MK1 MX5 Turbo

Ah, he must have sold it to someone else then. It looks very familiar, if it is indeed the car I'm thinking of then it has my old engine in :)

I'm not actually 100% sure if the engine is the B6ZE(RS) as could be a BP-4W from the slightly later model?

That's an interesting set up for the intercooler piping, I like it :) No idea on the air filter I'm afraid. Is it s a 1.6 or 1.8?

I need a new cone filter to replace the standard greddy one as the housing is rusted and the foam element probably isn't up to much on filtration, any ideas?

Snip

See these three for filters

nice car, indeed.. Speeking from experiance I would get rid of the toyo T1Rs. Ive got a set with federal 959 RSRs for trackdays and they are amazing.

I'll be sticking with the T1R's as for the cost, at least on lighter cars they are great in the dry and acceptable in the wet.

I agree on this, had some T1R's on the new alloys I got, had them removed a few weeks ago, don't seem good tyres for performance and the sidewalls seem way too soft!

This is the usual comment but it tends to be from people with cars in excess of hot hatch weights from what I've seen. They're not like an AD08 or similar in the dry as what I used to run on my old car, but for the price they compare very well.

You do know what car he has, right? :p

Of course, just don't hear it often from people with lighter cars :)

Oh not again

You've got a cracking car there with some serious BOOST, stop cheaping out with rubbish tyres. I'm not advocating slicks as a bit of slide is fun IME. Full set of Bridgestone RE002 was £266 in 195/50/15. Much better.

Oh I missed this! Cool car! Amazing what the 1.6 can achieve - what's the lag like?

My 1.8 had little to no lag, and was easy to drive "gently" as it was more energetically ;)

Hope you enjoy it!

I got them because they were so highly recommended, but they are awful cheap tyres, good for the price but still rubbish.

What did you get instead? I'm thinking AD08's because they don't make Eagle F1's in 15" size anymore.

Went back to the Michelin PE2's i had on my old wheels for now, which will be replaced by eitger 595RSR or AD08

I've just went for AD08s from T1Rs on my supercharged '5, I'd highly recommend them they are a cracking tyre and at 70 odd quid not a bad price. I was paying that for T1Rs on my previous car...

Cope rather well in the wet and I haven't died from standing water yet.
