Afternoon

Decided to get back in shape so got my chin up bar out. Only to find that the wall mounts are missing. Can anyone suggest what i can use to hold the bar in place? Or maybe there is a cheapish chin up bar available

Not to confuse anyone. Image is not mine, I only have a bar and not the wall mounts

Any help is appreciated. Cheers

Just buy another one. :)

Considering they cost £not much, it's not worth putting the effort in to get it mounted using some potentially dubious ghetto mod.

Thanks for reply guys :)
I know its probably worth getting a new one with proper mounts but the fact that i got it makes me wanna try :D
Will have a look into door stop, if not, new one :p

Do not get a chin up bar that screws into the frame, it'll destroy the frame and eventually break off.

I have one of these and it's been rock solid for three years. No marks on the door frame either. Can be picked up online for £20-£30

I've got a similar one, but I wouldn't say it doesn't mark. It has to be the perfect width otherwise metal can rest on the frame and dig in. Although some wadding or something wrapped around the bar in the right place may help that.

Problem for me is being 6'6. I live in mansionette on the 1st floor which basically makes that chin up bar with mounts the perfect choice as it'll go on the stairs
