Hey guys.

Looking for the above build quote for a small factor pc.

It is for my daughter who would only ever play sims 3 on it, she is used to playing on my pc, so everything is up max as it can go.

Would need an OS, and keyboard. No need for an ssd.

A nice small case, preferably in choice of colours would be appreciated.

Thanks

Get on the MM and see if there are any 2nd hand GPU bargains. A 1GB 460 or a 6850 (~£50) would still have ample performance really. This H61 mobo doesn't have sataIII but it's a fair bit cheaper than the H77 options. You could consider using the Windows 8 enterprise (evaluation) edition for free on a 3 month trial to save some cash now, maybe he has an old licence that could be upgraded?

Id really suggest a A10-5800k and a SSD,

If all she is going to be playing is sims, an SSD really would be my choice.

The A10 will max it easily...

Sims 3 still wants some grunt to run at max, my Phenom 965 and 6950 can't max it out without stuttering/lag that's with Overwatch Mod which smooths the AI by removing stuck sims and such and NRAAS story progression.

I don't think it will max it easily.

My Machine (970 and 560ti 448) Will max it easily.

So Trinity will be able to do it too..

If not get a cheap £30 gfx card and set up lucid crossfire.

Michael.

Thanks guys.

Plenty of good ideas, the bitfenix box is very nice.

Can someone point me towards a review for the gpu within the a10?

Thanks

No worries.

That's the lowly A6 (dual core) APU just using bog standard 1600mhz RAM. Faster RAM helps the IGP get better performance.

The thermaltake case I used is teeny tiny so you won't be adding a GPU to it. If you like the Prodigy and want the AMD A10 with the option of adding a GPU later......

Can't watch the video just now, Will watch when home from work. Thanks.

If I were to use the three month trial for windows, then throw in a 7850 possibly or is a 7770 just as good for sims?

Def liking these builds, even without a power supply :)

A 7770 will be better than the A10s IGP. The A10 has a better IGP than the A6 or the A8, I posted the video so you can see what the gaming performance is like on a less than ideal setup.

I'm not a fan of the 7770, considering you can get the 1GB 460 2nd hand cheaper and it soundly spanks the 7770 I would check the MM. The 7850 is a very good GPU it overclocks well too. If you are going to go with a GPU from the get go I would do an intel build personally.

Ideally I'd want something like that and add a 2nd hand 1GB 460. Haswell is due around the 4th of June though. It has lower power consumption and a better IGP with a little more oooompf than Ivybridge.

I do love seeing the alternatives and it's not even a build for me lol Quite nice that and I would hope he gets free P&P ;)

P.S Did you get my message via trust yesterday?
