Can I pre-order some Romanian Lei (Currancy)

No, it's not for a size 8 Romanian lap dancer I met....

I'm off to Romania in a couple of weeks and wanted to have a bit of local currency for when I land. I tried to order some in the local Post Office yesterday, which they said sure, plugged in the country code and the 'computer said no'.

They seemed surprised by this as the computer gave no explanation as to why it wouldn't process the order, so before I traipse out today looking for somewhere else, I thought I would check it's actually available to get in the UK.

How long are you going for? Everything there is ridiculously cheap. I've spent a month there in total and was amazed at how cheap everything is there!

I just got some local currency out of a cashpoint when I landed. You won't need a lot!

Just 10 days, and yea plan B was to just use a cashpoint when I got there.

Clarity charges APR for cash withdrawals... But i think it still better than using local exchange rate.

Correct on both counts, especially for something as uncommon as Romanian Lei.

You are not allowed to enter/leave Romania with lei. It has to stay within its borders.

Comparison site for getting currency. Just had a look there are about 8 different companies that do it. I have used ICE multiple times, in fact some just came yesterday. I have a Halifax Clarity card as well but I like taking a little cash with me.
