So I just brought a new buildings and contents policy and it got me thinking- how much am I paying per year to insure me and my stuff?!

I have just roughly worked it out at almost 4.5k/year

Costs me £520 (£340 car, £180 home) Only car and home insurance though, got rid of the life insurance until im in a more comfortable position financially, dont have any other gadget insurance or anything.

£4.5k is huge though, what are you insuring?

My life and critical illness is a very comprehensive 250k fixed policy for me and the mrs - hence its not cheap

Used to take company healthcare through work as well but the premium went up to £1600, even as a taxable benefit that's quite a lot of money

There all cheapest possible - guess I just over insure

I have car, gap, house, contents, gadget, life, ci, health, dental, pet and a few others with most of them being joint or multiple items.
