I would like to add a quote from Linus Torvalds but alas probably not allowed (:

headline: GTX780 to cost same as Titan

actual article: some people think it will be $599, some think it will be closer to $700 which we are saying is close to $1000

Guess we will have to wait and see, Sweclockers are usually reliable source tbf.

Either way I'm sure the new Nvidia cards will be very nice, but I'll wait for price drops, these 660's are enough for everything atm..

Ah well I'll sit tight and see the real pricing for my own eyes when it releases.

As I've said before it's a tough one for nvidia to price. £500 would be the sweet spot imo, low enough to temp people away from the 7900's and lower enough next to the titan to stop people thinking about spending that little extra on a titan.

Performance margins could be even tighter though, stock performance could be well within reach of an overclocked 7970, which again could sway some decisions. On the flip side of that a clocked 780 may be in stock titan territory...

I will shove my guestimate in now and say gtx 780 will arrive from 3 names on or around the 21st and lowest OcUk price will be £659 :)

So people believe that an Nvidia single GPU card will be priced the same as another Nvidia single GPU that is faster?

Edit: OK I've read the article now, it reports some people think that a 780 may cost a lot or not and it's specs may be close to a titan or not, that's breaking news right there.

I highly doubt that to be honest - the Titan is a limited edition with 6GB of VRAM and a snazzy cooler. The 780 is rumoured to have a performance of around 15% less than the Titan, and it will (probably) not be limited edition - I see it being around £600.
