I want to order an 64gb SD card for my note 2 as I keep running out of space. Ihave never bought one before or installed one before so I am a bit confused by the variety of options.

On the rainforest there is a couple of listings 64gb samsung sd cards:

Samsung 64GB Class 10 UHS-1 Grade 1 70MB/s MicroSDHC Pro Memory Card without adaptor for around 47quid

Or a Samsung 64GB Class 10 UHS-1 Grade 1 70MB/s MicroSDXC Pro Memory Card with an adaptor, that is about ten pounds cheaper.

What is the difference between these two cards? What is the adaptor for? which is the right one for a note 2?

First one is a proper samsung card - second one is not samsung at all. Would pay the extra for the samsung card.

I have this for about £40. Its a class 10 where the more expensive samsung is about a class 20.

I am happy to pay the extra for a decent card

I bought a 32gb sandisk from amazon for my s3. I think it was the same type as above. It developed a problem where the phone was always saying card removed/inserted. It gets worse and worse untill it reports a blank SD card and eventually kills it all together. If you look at the reviews of the 32gb version, about half of them mention problems with samsung phones. Sandisk admitted it in the end. I bought a cheap class 4 from here and it works fine, can't fault it.

after a quick look at the reviews on there, it appears that the 64gb version is unaffected. Look at the reviews of the 32, it really is every other one. That's exactly how mine was.

I have installed the 64gb samsung card and the phone seems to be recognising it fine.

Can anyone recommend me a tool for checking its capacity from within the phone. e.g in windows explorer you can right click on a drive > properties, and it will tell you the capacity. I want to be able to do the same thing in android. I just want to confirm that my phone can see the cards full capacity.
