Just picked up all 3 fromm the MM now want to play through1-3 but im not sure about how classes change between 1 and 3 with the importing.

If you are a Soldier in the 1st you and import it you will be a Soldier in the 2nd, then if you import your save from the 2nd to the 3rd you can change class in the 3rd. If I remember correctly.

Personally I found Soldier to be a fairly bland class to play. Vanguard is pretty crazy, Adept is also quite cool. Infiltrator is also fun too.

I'm pretty sure(99.9%) you get to change classes at the start of the second game. The classes got a complete overhaul in the second game and they play completely differently to the first, theres not so much of a change when you progress to ME3.

i remember years ago there was a bug in 360 version of mass effect 1 which kinda gave you unlimited money (via buying and selling to 2 different traders very close to each other) Fun times :D (i was basically at end game time so faffinf about)

Im about 1/3 through ME2 playing as vanguard - pretty sweet teleporting and shotgunning ppl in the face.

Soldier is an all rounder and you can use all the weapons. If you're planning on sticking to one class bear in mind that you can pick up a bonus class when you complete me1 and start a new game, and I think tot can also pick up an extra class when you pay through me2, and that The classes are slightly different in all three games.

The main pull of the soldier class for me is the Bullet Time in me2 (and 3, but it is reduced in 3). I might go for a soldier class in my fist trilogy playthrough and then go got engineer or adept in your second play through ;)

The infiltrator is great in the 2nd and 3rd games if you like sniping. In the first game there is no slowdown/bullet time so I wouldn't recommend it.

The vanguard is a fun class, up close and personal.

Adepts are great too, sentinels have survivability.

I'm actually a little jealous of you for coming to the games completely fresh - similar to how I am with people who say they're about to start FFVII.

WRT the classes, it doesn't really matter. Pick your team so you've got a good coverage of each and away you go. Don't forget in ME1 there's achievements for completing most of the game with each character in your team, so if you want that don't change them around too much.

The infiltrator is still a strong pick as theres actually enemies in the first game that require the use of a sniper rifle and for everything else theres the pistol and marksman which simply lays waste to everything. For the majority of the second and third games its all close quarters, so it never really felt like the sniper rifle was needed. If i remember correctly you also get access to the fitness trees 'immunity' which is the best survivability skill in the game.
