Do I have a case to fight this parking ticket? Photos included.

Would appear to be too close to junction, irrespective of markings/signage.

This - you might get somewhere with the state of the lines, tho to my eye theres enough of a question there as to what they mean that I'd have avoided it entirely - but they are just gonna avoid that entirely and go for the fact your parked to close to the junction - or you could gamble on them missing that point and taking a chance on the state of the lines but I don't really see you winning this one.

Since you posted a picture of the ticket, I took the liberty of phoning Hull City council, quoting your tax disc number and date of fine, and directed them to this topic.

I wouldn't bother contesting now :)

Nah I'm not bored enough... :D

Nope, did you not see the program on tv a couple of months ago about old men with nothing better to do than go around getting parking tickets with poorly painted signs and markings just so they could go to court and fight it. One of them lost his house!

What was the program called?

Why post this, clearly your on double yellow lines, and parked too close to a junction and just parked outright badly. You deserve a fine, just pay it.

I paced it out and I was parked roughly 9.5m from the junction

Looking at the pictures I would say that the back of your car looks like it is about 4-5m from the junction. The yellow lines will go from the junction and end 10m away so you must have very small legs to pace it out at 9.5m :D

Technically, yes I think you'd have a case because they have to be unbroken to be enforceable.

However, morally, just pay the bloody fine, it was obvious there were double yellows there and to boot you were almost certainly too close to the junction even if they weren't.

Why is everyone going on about parking too close to the corner.

He HASN'T been done for that.

I'd contest the cr@p out of that.

The bloke who nearly lost his house in that program WAS in the wrong.

The other bloke who parked on purpose to get caught has got off all of his and has proven that some of the traffic wardens lied and deceived in order to reach their targets.

They are not legal double yellow lines. They look nothing like the ones in the highway code.

Its a bit of a grey'ish area. But those lines are terrible not just a little faded or old.

In the 3rd picture his rear wheels clearly in an area of unbroken double yellow lines, under the car you can see double yellow lines, theres no excuse for this, sure the council needs to sort it out but its not like he couldnt tell if he paid attention to what he was doing, that or he just parked there anyway thinking he could get away with it.

Post it up on fightback forums and see what they say. I've had several tickets where I was in the wrong and they've managed to win me every one, saved me a lot of money. If you've got a chance of winning they'll help you, if you haven't they'll tell you straight away

What he said.....I'd say it was quite obvious that you are parked on DY's even though they are worn.

You were in the wrong.

You know you were in the wrong. You just admitted it.

Pay the fine. The country would be a better place if everyone just got on with it properly, and also, if everyone had the ability to park their vehicle.

Yup.

As I said the yellow lines are a lot lot further than 10m from the junction. I know it looks close but its really around 10m.

I really thought there would be more people willing to fight the system. The painted lines around hull are shocking in places. I recently did my hgv around here and was told if I messed up in certain areas I would not fail due to the condition of the road markings. How is this any different.

I think the lines either shouldn't be there or maintained correctly. I'm far enough from the junction so why are they even there as its a very quiet residential street.

Morally the OP is in the wrong. The lines are clearly double yellows. However if it were me then I would definitely appeal and I think there is a good chance of winning.
