Maybe showing my age and maybe I'm morphing into Victor Meldrew but are there any laws/rules regarding the parking of advertising vans? This van has been parked outside my house now for over a month, the guy lives down the road around 15 houses away but he's abandoned his van up the road, presumably because his neighbours complained?

The thing is around 15 foot tall, so almost 3/4 the height of a house and just blocks everything out. It's on European plates, with an "I" so I presume Italy. His prices are also sky high, bathroom renovations start at 7900 Euros, sheesh.

I could be completely wrong, but I seem to remember from an episode of Traffic Cops or something a few years back, that if a vehicle is being used to advertise a UK business it has to be UK-registered.

And why is the £ sign after the actual price?

Foreign registered vehicles are supposed to be re-registered once they've been in the country for a certain length of time (6 months is the figure that springs to mind but I could be wrong) might be worth looking into

Many residential streets have restrictions on the parking of commercial vehicles, particularly ones over a certain size. You could talk to the council, or local MP?

This came up in another thread a few months back. In the end it turned out that the restrictions only applied on lorries over 7.5 tonnes so a fair bit bigger then that.

Some new estates have covenant's with tighter restrictions, but it doesn't look likely in this situation.

I've just had a look at their web site and they have offices in London, it might well be worth ringing them up and having a winge.

Well the van hasn't moved for well over a month so I've lodged an abandoned vehicle with the local council. Looks like we may be stuck with it, by the way it's not just me but my neighbours too that are unhappy about it.

I assume someone's tried the note-on-windscreen route?

Else it's the abandoned vehicle route that you're trying, and if that doesn't work wouldn't it be a shame if it mysteriously got towed to some yellow lines further along the road...
