Snooker World Championships 2013

LOL, there you go. Daily Mail says something different.

Leading 13-9 in Friday’s evening and in the midst of a turgid 23rd frame, in which the balls had been pushed safely on to cushions, the defending champion rubbed his cue against the inside of his calf after the cue ball caught the jaws of the middle pocket as he played a safety shot.

Referee Michaela Tabb interpreted the action as an obscene gesture and ticked O’Sullivan off as he stepped up to play his next shot. He protested his innocence, insisting that he had been cleaning his cue to rid it of unwanted stickiness in what was a very humid arena at The Crucible.

I fancy she would make a great dominatrix. I can see her shoving snooker balls where the sun doesn't shine. :D

This tournament has slowly been turned in to the Ronnie show again. Can't wait until he leaves the sport for good. There are plenty of amazing players coming through the ranks and snooker has not missed his childlike antics and tantrums over the last year. Most gifted player to ever pick up a cue no doubt but an absolute helmet.

I just got the memo.

I think quite a few posts are a bit misunderstood. He is without a doubt the best player in snooker at the moment, and that brings it's own attentions.
The break (for me) has nothing to do with attention, his antics and whole personal that we see off the table is due to the pressure placed on him while he's at the table.
It's all a release/distraction method that is used to blank out almost every person you meet coming up to you and saying "you are brilliant", "a natural genius". He even said it outright himself in this competition, "People think I'm naturally gifted but they don't see the amount of effort I put in".

Put it this way, he had a rough childhood, early entry to fame and pressure and excels against those who have not had such fame and pressure.
I'll give you another example, Cobain, Hendrix, Morrison, Ian Curtis. It's very easy to comment on things we have not been part of.

Compare this to F1, you don't see Button or Hamilton saying or acting like this but they also have about 9ft thick walls of minders with them always, in a sport that takes care of their talent (£3000 rolex as soon as they finish a race), I hope you get the idea.

O'Sullivan is a talent, I know he's entertained me to hell and back in some of his matches. I'm glad he played this year. I find the way he has coped and progressed quite commendable. If Jimmy White had as much spotlight and success in the 80's the worm would turn on him too.
---------------

It's been a great tournament this year, really entertaining and if O'Sullivan spoiled that for you then I really can't understand why that is because aside from him there has been some classic matches that went on. I would have loved to have seen a Murphy O'Sullivan final though.

Tbh just avoid all the *******s off the table and O'Sullivan is dream to watch, Snooker would be just not as watchable without him...

ps3ud0

Sorry but I must call nonsense on this. It's like saying I love F1 but I hate Ayrton Senna or I love Greenpeace but I hate whales. Ronnie is controversial, but this adds to peoples fascination with him and is ultimately good for the sport. Calling him an 'absolute helmet' just demonstrates your lack of ability to evaluate a persons true nature. 99.99% of the time Ronnie conducts himself in a perfectly adequate manor, but because of the .001% of the time that he does not, you dismiss him as an 'absolute helmet' ? This child like mentally does you no favours my friend. Name calling will never win an argument. If you don't like him, fine, but don't be a child about it. After all, he's achieved far more in life than you have I would assume, so helmet or not, he must be doing something right. ;)

Are you one of these people that don't understand the concept of opinion and because you like something everyone must?

Ronnie O'Sullivan reconsiders retirement from snooker

Me, me, me, me, me. Snooker's all about me.
