Israel launches strike on Syria

Suspected arms shipments to Lebanese Hezbollah was the stated reason. It's not the first time, so its all a bit of a storm in a teacup tbh.

The stated aim for publicity was an arms convoy however it is reported they hit a research establishment. This is apparently the second time it has been hit. So whatever the Israelis think is happening there they do not like it, enough to bomb it twice.

Another act of war from the racial supremacist state of Israel to try to cause carnage and take down Assad. Imagine if Assad bombed a target inside Israel - the West would go to war against him. Glaring double standards for the Zionists.

"We don't eat pigs, you don't eat pigs...

... Why not, not eat pigs together!?"

Tim Minchin needs to get his finger out and start that peace anthem/tree/seed...

Its nice to know people like this really exist, means even if I get my skull bashed in and end up mentally retarded, I'll still be more switched on than some people.

Indeed, especially as it could easily be declared as an act of war which would no doubt destablise the whole region.

declared an act of war by who?

the Syrians?

They're hardly in any situation to even scratch israel let alone start a war.

if you're worried about that then I'd have thought you'd have been more worried about the American strikes inside Pakistan, given that both sides there are nuclear capable.

how so, given that it's the only nuclear power never to have set off one of it's nukes?

look how often israel does airstrikes ;) they are always blowing stuff up claiming its hezbollah convoys and often inside their neighbours borders

if another big wars involving multiple countries happen it's going to be because of israel thinking they have the right to go around blowing stuff up all the time

Heres one that may have slipped your mind

Don't forget these either

They like killing iranian nuclear scientists...

The fact it's happened before doesn't mean it's a storm in a teacup.

I think the point I was making is that as this is not the first time and given the relatively small international political footprint it has/had on the wider picture of what is happening in the region then it is a relatively minor event, as given the reaction of both the Syrians and the Arab community at large I would say that the chances of it being acted upon as an active act of War are very limited and not "easy" as Sports Brah suggests. The most important factor is not so much the attack on weapons heading to Hezbollah, but the disregard of another sovereign airspace in doing so, the Lebanese are the ones kicking up a fuss (albeit not as a prelude to any kind of declaration) and the impact this has on the continuing Israeli abuses of international law.
