Put Cyclingfans into Google. Links all the live streams for every Race. If you don't mind watching in Italian i think the giro website has live coverage and highlights

Got back from the sprint triathlon this morning which was awesome fun. So enjoyable to not have to worry about pacing over the relatively short distances where I'm training for long course triathlon.

Not sure on my overall time yet as they haven't been published but I think I came in around 1:08 so pretty chuffed with that!

Bike split is here for anyone interested:

The outward leg had a tailwind then headwind on the way back so evened itself out really. Great fun course, would recommend sprint triathlon to anyone!

Sounds like a good idea to me. How do we go about asking for a sub forum to be created? Do we need to have a whip around in order to bribe an admin? InQ could donate his crotch-eating bib shorts, I'm sure that'll go a long way to sealing the deal!

Think we just ask, and InQ has sold them to me so they won't be donated :D

Just make a thread for the Giro and keep all discussion of it in there. Then if you dont want to know who wins, dont read that thread.

Good ride out with Damien today. Hes gonna be ridiculously quick when his new canyon arrives!:D

My legs werent great today so we didnt go mega quick but a decent day out all in all :)

Yeah I enjoyed it. You did well considering you were out only yesterday. It was never supposed to be a heavy ride anyway. Just getting some miles in. Some of those TT guys left us in the dust though...

Epic ride was epic. Met up with Shadowness in the morning to ride the Somerset Gran Fondo. His mate set the bar ridiculously high, I had to peel of after 50ish miles as I knew I wouldn't have enough in the tank for the big climb up Crowcombe Combe ahead.

Caught back up w/ them 1.5 miles from the end as Dan's mate had a puncture. Awesome ride, Crowcombe did not dissapoint, it was an absolute blood bath with cyclists every where pushing their bikes. Pleased to say I made it up w/ out getting off :)

£600 but i need to get shoes and other stuff as well. I have also seen the Giant defy 5 compact, which I think would suit me as a beginner and its only £499.

Indeed!

Nice to meet and ride with you.

Until next time..........

managed 60+ miles today with 40+ miles of that @ 19+mph average. :)
Hopefully put me in good stead for the charity ride. Need to work on the endurance side more though now as i can do the 40mile max stints in between stops at a good pace.Need to work on doing a 50mile stint, having a half hour break then another 50miles to get the usage of my body worked out right.

After a productive late night building it last night, my new bike was built and hit the road for the first time today! A nice 80km ride to tweak everything and make sure everything was running as it should. Here it is:

Frameset: Scott CR1 Comp (54cm)
Handlebars: FSA Wing Pro Compact
Stem: FSA OS-115
Seatpost: FSA SLK Carbon
Shifters: SRAM Rival
Chainset: SRAM Force (50/34, 175mm)
Front derailleur: SRAM Force
Rear derailleur: SRAM Rival
Rear cassette: SRAM PG-1050 11-26
Chain: KMC X10-93
Brakes: SRAM Rival
Wheelset: American Classic Victory 30s
Tyres & tubes: Vittoria Open Corsa EVO KS (23mm) and ultralight Specialized inner tubes
Saddle: Specialized Romin
Bottle cage: Planet X Carbon
Pedals: Shimano PD-R540

Weight (incl. pedals, cage & computer): 7.4kg

To say it's an upgrade from the bTwin is an understatement.

Thoughts on a couple of things:

The drivetrain is a bit of a hodgepodge but I tried to get value for money by going for where I thought the most noticeable benefits would be. The Force chainset is fantastic but I couldn't quite stretch to the shifters and rear mech. I might upgrade to Force all round down the line but the Rival performs very well.

The Vittoria tyres are simply awesome. They'll probably puncture at the first sight of glass but they give you a huge amount of feel and confidence in the corners.

Knocked significant amounts of times off my PBs on the local climbs so the weight savings are certainly noticeable (my old bike weighed about 12kg...).

Because I was aiming to build it to a 1k budget and they came up second hand (off someone who happens to be a forum actually!) when I needed a set. I'm happy with them though, they roll smoothly and are fairly light. Some people say they're flexy but I'm more Andy Schleck than Tony Martin so it's not a major issue for me. :p

They'll becoming my training wheels eventually because I would like a set of aero wheels and some super lightweight wheels - my wallet has to recover and I need to outgrow this set first. :D
