***My single best TV series I would recommend to a friend thread***

I'll certainly remember to be much more sensitive to what you post in the future. I didn't realise I offended you and your beloved Casualty...:p

I'm not offended, I just find it funny when you lol at something and then come out with Fringe and X-Files (both of which I have watched every episode).
Like I said, you should think before you post.

Crime - The wire followed closely by Sopranos
Politics - West Wing
Thriller - 24 or Person of interest (could swap based on quality of second season)
Drama - Breaking Bad
Comedy - Probably Frasier with honorable mentions for Father Ted, Seinfeld, Californication, Scrubs, Curb your Enthusiasm
Animated - South park, with honorable mentions for American Dad and Family guy

given you haven't responded to the first point i made, i'd have to say yes. :p

I didn't answer your first point because that whole statement of asking me to define what is popular based on at least 3 very popular shows is laughable - like asking me to define how Friends is popular.

I am also not getting into a silly debate about defining what is popular just because you want to contest the popularity of these shows, and then suggest I like them because they are like the 'in' thing to like around here. But if you'd like a small history lesson then I'd be happy to share with you how I discovered them - it might bore the other forum members though. In fact, if you really are that bothered, you could just search in this section and see my posts talking about how I discovered shows like 24 and how they made me into a fan, which kinda proves I discovered them long before I was on here as a forum member. I doubt you'll go to the effort though, because you know as well I do that suggesting that as the strength of your argument was laughable at best.

I'm not offended, I just find it funny when you lol at something and then come out with Fringe and X-Files (both of which I have watched every episode).

I'll admit Fringe is a bit premature, but the X-files was popular there is no denying that. The whole success of the show and cult following proves my point. If you don't want to accept that, then I will not waste any more of my time replying.

Like I said, you should think before you post.

I will obviously need to think before I post around you, as I seem to hurt your feelings. I am sorry that I mistook your recommendation of Casualty as being a genuine recommendation. I wish you a long and happy viewing experience.:p

Started to watch justified lately, fantastic show. Great storylines and characters, also quite funny in parts.

3 pages and no Deadwood, for shame :p.

Ian Mcshane is brilliant in it. Shame it got cancelled before they could end it properly but still a very good show.

We've started watching Touch. It's only in its second series in the US though so not sure if it qualifies.

24 was also rather good ;)

(see a pattern here haha).
