Hi guys, I hate coming here for help but I'm really stuck on this...

The problem is:

Ok so a back story, a power cut, power tripped (everything but lights) and the PC was on and under load at the time of said power cut, however the PC would not turn back on (it was at this time I got a text). 5 Minutes of it not turning back on, it turns on and it stayed like this for about 6 Hours until it was shut down. However then again, when it was asked to boot up, it wouldn't until after 5 minutes. Now, I've asked whether or not the fans spin momentarily or constant, and the reply was, the fans turn on until the PC is again powered off however no signal on the monitor, however the strange thing is, the fans on the graphics card are getting powered.

I'd like some help on what to do next... I'm thinking a reseat on the graphics card completely.

I've opened this for some on-going help so I can relay information back to you guys and see what you'd suggest.

The system specs are:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit SP1
Intel Core Q8300 @ 2.50 GHz
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB
Gigabyte P41T-D3P (S775)
EVGA GTX 570 1280mb
 
If the lights were still on what tripped the power? Any chance it was the PC?

I'd be looking at the PSU as the first suspect.

Is there a motherboard speaker connected, and is it telling you anything?

I highly doubt it was the PC, it was probably a toaster he said :)

If it was the PSU, surely it wouldn't be providing power to power all the fans and the USB's etc... (I wouldn't let Acme see your post!)

I'll tell him to connect the motherboard speaker if he can find it...
