Morning,

I posted a thread the end of last year about the interest in upgrading. I like to play things pretty much maxed out, but even though I only built this computer middle of 2011 it's showing signs of strain!

TBH I don't think the PC has ever been 100% right since I built it, it started off with micro stuttering issues, which after new replacement memory + hard drive were still there, it has eventually vanished but I still feel that something isn't working right (most games with the exception of a few I see graphic glitches, random frame drops etc).

Now I have some money I am looking at upgrading either 1 or a few components.

I like to play games maxed out, my monitor can only run @ 1680 x 1050 so I don't play at huge resolutions.

Here is the spec:

I want an answer on a few things really, what do you lot reckon is causing the graphic glitching? The system is overclocked to 4.2 but the temps stay steady and don't rise to anything massive. Do you think it could be after all this time just a slightly iffy graphics card? Power supply?

What do you recommend I upgrade to?

I'm really out of touch now with hardware!

Thanks a lot in advance. :)

Have you tryed stock and see if its still iffy and you could also go in and set ram timings manually some times this can be a cause of stuttery graphics. The 580 although good its recommeneded a minium of 2gb vram cards for the biggest and best games

Thanks for response, yes have tried stock as well as setting things manually and still the same.

What would you recommend graphics card wise?

Upgrading is the process of replacing a product with a newer version of the same product. In computing and consumer electronics an upgrade is generally a replacement of hardware, software or firmware with a newer or better version, in order to bring the system up to date or to improve its characteristics.
