Let's look at it this way..
The supply of codes are limited. Sony will have projected the costs of all the codes being handed out, etc. The only problem is that they're going to run down quicker. It's really no loss to Sony if you add it all up. The only hurting thing would be that as the money adds up for one person, they can buy £40-50 releases. Whereas if you restrict £22 per person, the consumer has to find the remaining £18. So I guess there will be losses.
