I know nothing about this other than this morning reports.

Three girls went missing 10 years ago and have been found in a house.

Three young women who vanished about a decade ago in the US state of Ohio have been found and are in hospital in a fair condition, officials have said.

Amanda Berry disappeared aged 16 in 2003, while Gina DeJesus went missing at the age of 14 a year later.

They and Michele Knight, 32, who vanished in 2002 at the age of 20, were found in a house in the city of Cleveland, police confirmed.

Three brothers have been arrested in connection with the case.

Cleveland police said the suspects are Hispanic, aged 50, 52 and 54, and one of them had lived at the house on Seymour Avenue.

A neighbour heard one of the girls screening and helped them escape.

A neighbour said he had seen a woman screaming for help at the front door of the house.

Charles Ramsey said he suggested the woman open the door and exit, but she told him it was locked.

Could they really have been on that house for all those years and yet cry for help yesterday?

It wasn't just a cry for help yesterday, she escaped and cried for help. Just a slight and fundamental difference.
Put someone in a sound deadened room and no one will know.

It must off been hell I can only assume they have been raped for 10years.

3 brothers raping you for 10 years, What the **** is going on in this World. :( +

Makes me want to get my pitchfork out & go all 17th century.

Funny interview has to be said. Amazing that no one knew they were there for that amount of time! At least there safe now, however given that amount of time spent in captivity its going to take some time to recover!

Poor girls have been robbed of years of their lives and subjected to 'who knows' what kind of awful treatment. Hopefully those responsible are punished for what they have done.

A punishment more serve than incarceration would be quite in order.

The sad thing about this story is I'm not even shocked. The depravity some people are capable of really makes me worried about our entire species. Is there something fundamentally, or genetically wrong with people that commit such crimes? How can you inflict such pain on someone without the slightest bit of empathy? I'd love to know how they rationalised their actions in their own heads.

Hope the 3 guys holding then captive get the chair.

Prison while in gen pop for guys like these is a far far worse punishment than the chair. Execution is an escape from punishment, it ends punishment.

These guys deserve, well, 10 years of torture back frankly, for each victim, and I only just thought, but who knows if they went at the kid as well. Some people could recover from something like this but I would think a majority of people will never be "ok" in their lives after something like this, depression, suicide attempts, inability to trust or have relationships. The kid, no idea, 6 years locked in a dungeon, maybe she's young enough that she won't remember much and she can adjust to the "outside world" well enough, maybe she's just old enough that there will be things she can never forget and the outside world will always feel alien to her.

The really awful thing is how often this happens, and how many people around the world are in the same situation and can't get out, how many people will never get out of these situations :(

It's not just America. A similar thing happened to Natascha Kampusch in Austria when she was freed in 2006. People are depraved, not just certain nations.

At least they are now free but it must have been a terrible, terrible, experience and it's so sad that a mother and daughter won't get to see each other again.

I'm generally not in favour of capital punishment but cases like this make me wonder if it is appropriate in some cases.

On a slightly ligher note - if one can be found from this - that black guy Charles Ramsay is epic.

I honestly can't remember if it was the US or UK, there was a story about a family that kept a man as a slave, beat him, did unspeakable things then finally killed him and, IIRC, dumped him in a lake or something.

Yeah, UK, it happens here, it disgustingly, dispicably, happens everywhere. I would suggest here it was a horrendous case of government retardness as they were taking this guys benefits yet would seemingly have let them cash his benefits without ever checking on the guy.

As I said before, the thing is, its the cases we don't hear about, these guys made one mistake, left a basement door open or something once in a decade and they got out. If they had never escaped, these girls would have died with no one knowing, maybe taken out in the middle of the night in pieces, or buried in the basement, who knows. How many people are currently being held across the planet, how many people will get the chance to escape and how many will die in captivity without anyone else knowing. THe thought sickens me, so many people are just digustingly evil, the worst thing being almost no one else seems to realise what these people are like inside their own houses as they act completely "normal" outside.

Look at all the peado's being outted currently, and think about how many more there are but where the victims are still too embarrassed to come out and say anything about it, people do horrendous things and really worryingly, very few of them are being caught, just the people that make mistakes, those that don't... its a horrifying thought how many people could be out there in the same situation, next door, down the street, around the country. You know how many missing people cases there are in the US/UK.....
