All,

I know this is pointless, taking up space etc etc, but hoping it helps me feel better.

But I woke up this morning to find someone had keyed all down one side of my car.

Less than year old Black Audi A7, parked on street outside the gf's house, quiet side street, never been any trouble before.

Caught from bottom of bonnet all down passengers side of car to brake light.
Cannot explain how annoyed I am.

What I don't get is - What is the point? Unless whoever done it owns a local respray shop, what benefit is there in doing this?

Only car in the whole street that got damaged - Can only imagine car was "sticking out" amongst the crowd given it had just been washed at dealers after its service.

I cant afford to get it fixed for at least 6 months till I save up some money, but what is really annoying is...it could happen again the day after I get it fixed.

People up and down the country work hard to get things they want and little scum bags ruin it for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

When I was younger I was no angel...but when we rang a door bell and ran away it was daring enough...would never have thought/wanted to damage someone's pride and joy.Suppose it could be an older person as easily as it could be a teenager.

At risk of sounding like a keyboard warrior...think its telling about their character that they do it at 3am when your asleep.

Anyway, as I said. As much as everyone has said "oh it happens", "they are just jealous" etc etc - It is still hard to shake the feeling, especially when every time I walk out the house/use my car I see it.

Its annoying for sure. You work your arse off to enable you to have nice things, that people come along and ruin. I had my CTR and S2000 keyed which cost me a lot to put right.

People are jealous and all they can think to do is ruin other peoples things. Crap world we live in.

I've had two cars keyed from tip to tail, and I share your pain.

I've also had paint dumped on the front end of one car, but it wasn't just my car on the street that got done.

Pointless destruction is always depressing. I've never understood why these things happen. What kind of sad empty life do you have to lead to get a kick out of destroying other people's things?

Had my focus bonnet jumped on and side keyed too. Cowards at play nothing you can do unfortunately law If they're caught will be let down by the judicial service on grounds of abused childhood, drug issues etc and will be a slapped wrist and another £xk of wasted court fees.

Some **** has keyed my e46

I find this more puzzling than your car OP tbh, the damage to mine - at BMW rates - would probably write it off!

I just don't get it though, it's a '98 318i with slightly rusty rear arches, no leather, completely bog standard and unwashed for months. I'd guess its worth £500 tops !?! Yet somebody is jealous enough to key it!?! WTF???

I can only presume its due to the crappy parking on my street, yet as far as I know, it's just mine that's been done!?!

Mindless vandalism, or, perhaps, somebody hates me?

Either way, you have my sincerest empathy, but don't let it get to you - however hard that is - ultimately,it's what the low life scum pot was probably hoping for.

Hey, sorry to hear you've been caught too, your right about not letting it get to me...no point.

Just hope their next **** is a hedgehog!

I've had so many of my cars vandalised over the years. It used to really get me down but nowadays I just get it fixed and move on. The vandal wants to get you annoyed so don't give them the satisfaction.

On another note that's an insane excess.

Don't be down - be ANGRY. You caught a piece of bad luck, based on some other goon's inexcusable behaviour. Hopefully it will be the one and only time anything of yours has been vandalised.

I get in a rage when someone damages my car through negligence, if someone went out of their way to damage it I think my head would explode.

I wouldn't waste your time trying to figure out the motive unless you have obviously cheesed someone off, most likely just some bottom feeding benefit sponge jealous of the "rich ****'* flashy motor".

Sorry to hear about your car. Nothing I can say will be news to you - some asshat simply decided he was unhappy enough with his life that he lashed out to make himself feel better. I can only assume that is the case.

Happened to me outside my gf's house. Quite area, no-one else's car was touched. WHY? That's all I kept thinking. I had it fixed, but I haven't parked there again because I am worried it'll happen again. In reality I take my other car (shed) and park it around the corner when I visit. It sucks but there you go.

I'd love to meet one of the little ***** to ask them what they think they achieve buy mindless vandalism. Hmm I think I just answered my own question.

Chin up (and try to get you excess down next time)

Make sure you get something on the scratch do it doesn't get any worse while you save up for a repair.

People are dicks, its a shame one of them chose your car!

Out of curiosity, what would you put on a scratch to stop it deteriorating if you couldn't get it repaired straight away?

Had mine keyed in Norwich about 5 years ago when I was living there. Both rear quarters. Fortunately a couple of years later a biker hit one side and my car needed a new wing mirror, driver's door and a respray. That sorted one side out, but the other side is still pretty badly keyed around the petrol cap.

5 years on and ny ep3 is worth about 2k so it doesn't bother me now.

Appears vehicle vandalism is too common. :(

All to common unfortunately, happened to a car of mine 5 years ago.. still makes me angry now if I think about it, and I dont even have that car anymore. The human race is unfortunately sick and in need of a culling. I estimate 30%of Britains need exterminating for one reason or another, thats just how I feel these days. Ah well :D
