Movies you are ashamed you really like

Most people here seem to think that there's something wrong with liking Chick Flicks? Why? It's not a bad film because it's a chick flick, and it's not a good film because it's a man's film. Obviously the Twilight films are bad AND chick flicks, but that's coincidental. Clueless (to pick one cited example) is actually a good film - but it ought to be, given the source. A better use for this thread would be bad films you like, rather than ones which you don't think are macho enough.

I thought that was the point of the thread.

In that case, here are my nominations...

Tank Girl
Bio Dome

Both terrible, but I loved them as a kid and still have a soft spot for them

pitch perfect

and

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert :o

ok this movie amazes me that they can have 3 guys like Guy, Hugo and Terence in a film like this, each one puts in jaw dropping performances :D

Sleepless in Seattle is a favourite of mine and made at a time when Meg Ryan was very pretty, sans fish lips.

A film being bad is too subjective, the point of the thread is very simply movies you are ashamed (for whatever reason) that you really like. If you are ashamed for liking chickflicks then fair enough.

Mean Girls
Clueless
Bring it on
Princess Bride

Nothing wrong with liking these, they are good films. In fact i thought Princess Bride was a cult classic?

Have to say I'm partial to a bit of Independence Day.

For some reason the fact that the Aliens couldn't be bothered to install Avast makes me like the film even more :D.

I also quite liked Love Actually but have only watched it once and the manly animal inside won't let me watch it again :D

Tank Girl

I thought so too, but most of the posts before mine were people nominating pretty good films, and claiming to be embarrassed by liking them. The thing that united most of them (but not the The Princess Bride) as that they are usually seen as chick flicks - hence the post.

As for Tank Girl, I seem to remember it was OK when I originally saw it, but it's never been on TV for some reason, so I've not seen it since. I did quite like the original Judge Dredd, but then I never really read the comics much. But the board game was awesome...

Simples = Predator 2. Despite the fact its more cheesy than a cheddar sandwich & there's no Arnie in it, I prefer it to the original. :p

A film being bad is too subjective.

One way of doing it could be IMDB rating < x (say 6.5). Still subjective but basically turns it into another "what films do you think are underrated?" type thread.
However, as the OP it is your right to define the criteria.

I'll add Independence Day to my list.
