WTF! Bear Eats Monkey at Bike Race

There's some messed up 'cultural' food and drink in Asia, that's for sure.
Heard of the "three screams"? Yeah it's basically eating live baby mice.
How in the nine hells did that actually catch on? At what point doesn't someone say 'hold on, that's sick!' Instead it's more like 'oh, live baby mice - tasty! and listen to the little buggers scream as you eat them!'
My gf is also Chinese and although she probably wouldn't have walked out, she would surely have been offended

Actually most people who know what they are doing don't do that as you then run the risk of the lobster detaching it's claws/pincers.
Having worked in my fathers fishmongers many years ago we humanly killed the lobsters right before putting them in the water by first placing them in the freezer for 15-20mins to null the senses and then quickly splitting the main body section of the animal in half to kill it!
All the lobsters I boiled were 100% dead before I boiled them
Also why are you trying to argue about one type of animal cruelty by raising another?? We should be condemning ALL types of animal cruelty !

That video is hilarious for three reasons:
1) Animals on bikes - I'm sorry, but that is ridiculous and very funny 
2) How cartooneque the cruety is. They aren't even trying to not be cruel! What the hell!
3) The shock of the bear nomming on the monkey.

Also the reason lobsters/crabs have to be kept alive up until the point of cooking is a health and safety reason as bacteria forms extremely quickly inside them once they are dead.
The reason some Chinese cook the fish alive has nothing to do with this and rather a cultural obsession with freshness which is far less except-able imho!!
I disagree with cooking ANYTHING while it's still alive especially when the alternative is a quick humane kill just before it's cooked which will not effect it's freshness one iota !

And this is the reason why I will never visit east Asia. Why do they have no animal rights over there? I find it to display a bit of barbaric/medieval ness which I don't ever intend to be a part of.

Also I thought I'd better point out that the scientist are still out on whether lobsters/crabs can actually feel pain! Their is evidence and study's on both sides of the argument so the jury really is still out on that one!!!
That said the civillized and sensible approach would be to assume they DO feel pain and are capable of suffering, so yeah the idiot above who cooked that crab should have humanely killed it first, only takes a few seconds so why wouldn't you

Don't see a huge issue with animals riding bikes any more than dogs having a collar round their neck and being forced to walk while held onto with a leash...
Screw it if they could better ensure that the monkey doesn't get scoffed in future I'd go and see that show...
