Xenons are standard. The wind deflector isn't I don't think but it does make a big difference.
Comfort access is quite nice (mine does have it) but it's really not enough a deal break IMO. Does yours have iPod integration? That's the once big thing that annoys me about mine.
It say's it comes with a connectivity package so I'm assuming it does. As long as I can plug a USB device in I'll be happy as I don't have an iPhone with music, just a ipod for the gym.
Same here, I've read somewhere that it comes with adaptive suspension as standard, but I don't think this is true. There are 3 modes - comfort, sport and sport+. If you have M Sport adaptive suspension it adjusts whenever you change the driving mode. If you don't have the M Sport adaptive suspension then it just adjusts the steering and throttle response.
Yeah mine doesn't have the USB
I didn't have it on my M3 either, but was going to retrofit it. I think it was around £400 for parts and extra for labour. It was complicated but it can be done. That was for the older CCC iDrive system though.
You can still upload songs onto the 12gb HDD though.
Yeah I upload them but it's just annoying to have to do it versus having proper iPod integration.
Extended storage is extremely crap mate, I'd not worry too much about it vs the other stuff there. It's nets behind the seats (virtually unusable unless you're a midget - I'm only 5'7 and I can't get hardly anything behind them), a net in the drivers side footwell big enough to fit a can and some rubber straps in the boot - except the straps are attached to the flimsy battery cover piece of cardboard-like material so it's not exactly fixed. Wind deflector is a mesh type and I haven't bothered putting it in this year. It's OK but not exactly amazing.
USB was an option until... 2010? Then became standard at some point. It switched over when they switched the electronics over inside one of the modules - might have been the combox? Combox does more than standard USB, it only required one cable, did album art etc... Standard USB works a treat though, I just have a standard USB drive attached although it's pretty slow.

It comes as standard with M Sport suspension which you can delete for free.

Thats good to know about the USB function. The car was registered in Oct 2010 but could have been built before the change over. Is there any way to tell?Google tells me week 35 which is end of August. Combox allows bluetooth A2DP streaming which I don't have so I can't tell you the exact test but I'd connect a phone via standard BT then enable A2DP in <phone music player of choice> and give it a whirl.
6FL is the code for USB standalone, I think the combox code is 6VC from googling it. I think these are likely to be mutually exclusive. You can grab a buildsheet if you have the VIN of the car using this method.

Awesome info. Going to get the VIN number off the dealer tomorrow as the warranty isn't bringing anything up (maybe due to the car still being under manufacturers warranty still).

Wind deflector doesn't come on the build list. I have one and it's not on mine so I'd imagine it's just a dealer thrown in thing. When/IF you get the car you can sign up to the BMW online system and get your phone registered so you can remote unlock it etc... it should have some time left on it for you (after 3 years from factory they charge).
If you want some things to argue over with the dealer (I stress, the car is fine but incase you need counter items) you could mention that maps are out of date, it has the base audio (a few people are unhappy about the volume with top down/full pelt) and it doesn't have DAB so as it's not the perfect match for you, you'd like the wind deflector thrown in and fitted (it requires some re-assembly of the roll hoops).

One more question guys; what do BMW have to do in order to prevent thieves from stealing the car via key coding and using the ODB port, like so many others have been stolen recently? They said to me something can be done but they didn't elaborate.
