Hello peeps.
I need a new pc, from overclockers uk, what would £2500 get me? it needs to be futreproof=upgradeable, im not a massive gamer but would like it to play up to date games would like it to be water cooled , my main reason for a pc is to edit photgraphs with photoshop.
would like to see peoples ideas weather it would be intel or amd
thanks
cant wait to hear your ideas.

Just to let you know i was going to get a imac 3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz so would like better than this

I imagine £2500 would get you a pretty high end setup. I paid less than that for my current PC and its still got good performance on new games a couple of years later.

What could it get you?, a fantastic PC for £1500 & £1000 to put into savings, donate to charity, put towards a holiday or any other better use.

Or you could get a £1000 PC & one of these bad-boys (depending on how much photo-shop you intend to use & how seriously).

I would say spend 1500 on it, and leave a thousand over for upgrades as and when needed.

Say in 6 months if you see a frame rate drop, sell a component, add the funds to your upgrade funds, purchase the replacement, see a frame rate increase with newer tech and not much cost.

Rinse and repeat until you need to spend 1500 again on a new rig. At which point, you'll already have savings for it, and a previous semi decent spec to sell to add to the funding the new machine.

More than needed, you can get a top end 2011 socket build with water cooling, utterly overkill.

1500 would get you what you need bud.

Wait for Haswell.

The monitor linked in this post is VERY good and to be honest essential if you are going to be working with any material which you need colour accuracy.

Yeah, don't skimp on the monitor if you want to edit photo's and such :)

My BenQ panel, though it is fantastic for general use and gaming, is shown up by my old 20" Dell when it comes to colour accuracy.
