webuyanycar

That's the problem. I wouldn't say the car is in clean condition. The scratches aren't bad but I know places like this will knock off a huge amount of money and still not even sort it. I'm gonna take to to wewantanycar and see what they say. If I don't like the figure they offer I will just put it on eBay.
Only issue with my car at the moment is the key fob needs programming. Light flashes but doesn't do anything and I've tried to manually sync it up. So they will probably try knock a huge amount off due to that.

My car had a faulty lock actuator. If you locked if with the key, then it'd be fine - but using the remote to lock it would cause it to lock and then unlock. They didn't knock anything off for that.

The only 'test' they did was to pull the handbrake tight, put it in first and bring the clutch up - assume they were checking for clutch slip.

I'd get it up online.

Autotrader is expensive but I've sold two cars from there and they've both generated lots of interest and sold within a few days of going up.

I had it on autotrader for 2 weeks. Had 2 calls (time wasters) about the car and that was it. Couldn't believe it as it had over 130 views. Price was fair considering if not great compared to the others on there at the time. Think eBay will be my best bet for a decent price but will take it to wewantanycar as their price seems pretty good.

My brother in law used webuyanycar a few years ago for his clapped out A4. I think the original offer was £1000, and it ended up being around £100 post inspection :p

Ok for lazy rich people otherwise there are far better ways to sell your car and get decent cash for what it's worth.

They price by CAP average then -£150 per defect. I.e you get bummed.

It's not -£150 per defect, depends on the damage and type. Values were typically based on the trade price, mind, but then most people were looking to trade their car in anyway - so it put them in the right ballpark. Some people can get a good deal out of 'em though, really depends on what you take them.

I sold a car with a knackered autobox, paid about half of it's value but it never went back on the road (was never retaxed).

So was not too bad. Car was in perfect nick apart from the box so don't think they spotted it (Car would change to third, then just stay there, was a Vovlo S80 2.9, box repair was not worth the cost)

A colleague sold his MX5 to them. The online quote was about £1600. When he got there he was beaten down to £400.

The condition wasn't that bad.
