So, I need a pair of engine mounts pretty darn soon. I notice ECP sell Qdrive and ocap as well as Lemforder. Now, the Lemforder items are nearly double the price. Is it really worth it for a chunk of rubber?

Ive fitted crap made by brands like febi in the past to have them fail at approx 12 months and sworn never to use them again.

I have never, not once, had a Lemforder part let me down. Ive done some absolute pigs of jobs but knowing once its done itll be done because a lemforder part never goes wrong. ive used lemforder front to back on my M3, i dont think you can find better

Check the part in the box when you buy from ECP. When I had my Volvo I bought the more expensive engine mount from them and three times I picked it up with the right brand on the box but the cheaper part in there. I went direct to Volvo in the end and difference wasn't that much.

Surprising you had problems with febi parts, they are generally always very good quality and meet and exceed O.E specifications.

I am pretty sure Q drive is Euro's own brand. I would pay the extra money if you could afford to.

ECP's "QDrive" parts seem to be the cheapest and nastiest quality bits they could find, I personally wouldn't touch these.

Lemforder are actually the OEM parts in many cases (you will find manufacturers logos etc. ground off OEM parts sold by ECP) and are about as good quality as you can get. FEBI should also be decent quality parts.

Engine mounts?

I'd go to the manufacturers parts desk every time. The cheap rubber in some of the mounts are just horrid, almost plastic.

It is worth it in my experience, especially on mountings that have a tendency to fail through design or what have you. I've rattled the rear 'triangle' renault mount within days with a cheap ass effort, seriously just not worth it in my experience.

Fitted Qdrive balljoints to my Clio, they came off the next day for some Lemforders. Absolute shocking quality, Ocap seems to be the same rubbish. You can't ignore the old saying of you buy cheap you buy twice.
