Hi there!

Ive got the gta 4 pack on pc but found the game to be soo poorly optimized that i never really progressed in the expansions

Id rather play them with a controller on my couch any way so are they decent enough on the ps3 to be worth buying at the sale price? About £11 with plus discount i never finished gta4 either but i got close i think

Thanks :)

Don't expect it to look nearly as sharp as the PC version. The framerate can suffer at times, but for the most part it's fine, I certainly didn't have any real issues with it.

GTA IV is a lot of fun on PS3 so go for it, I've completed in multiple times it never gets boring!

Apparently the DLC packs perform marginally better than vanilla GTAIV, but still pretty awful. I managed to get through the main game on PS3, but the framerate really soured the experience.

I didnt think it was that bad, but im not fussy at all as long as its all playable im good.
Ive stuck with the PC versions though but i did instantly buy san andreas! :D

I think really highly of GTA 4, I'd recommend it. However you could probably pick up the disk version for cheaper than £11 though.

I've played 100's of hours of GTA IV on PS3 on and offline and never had a problem with the framerate.

THis is good news :) im sure if there is a frame drop here and there it wont take away from the story etc

do people still play online then?

I've heard the PS3 version has quite a few cheaters/hackers online. Haven't played in a long time myself.

I was playing some more yesterday. I really, really hope they retain (and improve upon) as much as possible from GTA4 in GTA5. The physics engine is superb, and just neat little details make the game so much more enjoyable. I was hanging out on a half-constructed bridge, hiding behind some barrels, shooting police helicopters with an automatic shotgun, and had my car parked nearby with the engine on and the door open so I could hear the radio. Stuff like that is just awesome, you don't get those touches on many (if any) other games.

How big is the download for this? weighing up whether to buy a physical copy instead to save spending ages downloading...

8gb for gta 4 and 2ish gb each for the expansions i believe

No more than 14gb all togeather

IM half tempted to go for san andreas but i bet thats not too good as a ps2 classic

Indeed it has aged badly, still a bit of fun but nowhere near as good as GTA IV.
