I have just been looking at the HD 7970 GE on these charts, these cards are well known for their high clocks and very good overclocking. If you compare the HD 7970 GE to the Ares II in the above benchmarks, it is indicating that the Ares II is getting 100% or more xfire scaling. Something is amiss here.

I also own a pair of Asus Matrix Platinum HD 7970s and have never seen a review where the Ares II has managed to score better than my own HD 7970s.

All I am doing here is making observations, I don't want this thread to turn into a huge argument.
 
Pgi can run some comparisons if we ask him nicely id imagine using the 13.5 beta 2's. Over 100% xfire scaling is not surprising though ive seen it in other titles like bf3.
 
I don't care either way Matt, as I disagree with their results and even you disagree with their results and yet you claim them as accurate... I wouldn't consider that as crapping on your thread and seems you are saying only agree with me or don't post and you know this isn't how forums work.

You ripped [H] results to bits and I didn't consider that as "crapping on the thread" or Fanboy talk.

The Ares II has a stock boost clock of 1100mhz that would explain its results when compared to a ghz edition card which is 1050mhz.

But not when overclocked, individual HD 7970s overclock like that stuff off a shovel. The Ares II is good but not good enough to beat two individual cards.

You do realise that the Ares II and the 7990 are dual chip cards or are you just acting this thick on purpose? 3 Titans against 3 7990's or Ares II will be a win for the Titans.
 
7970ghz crossfire is not benched here though. Its a single 7970ghz stock+Oc'd vs a Ares II stock+Oc'd and a 7990 stock+Oc'd. The Ares II has faster clock and memory speeds, the 7990 has a slower core speed of 1000 vs 1050 on a ghz 7970.

Thracks says the majority of 7970's clock between 1100mhz-1200mhz so its only an average overclock but still a 110mhz core boost over stock which is not bad, and thats before you consider its real default clock of 925mhz.

What's the problem now?

A 7970ghz is the same as a 7970 just with an increased core clock. A 110mhz core overclock 1050-1160 is not bad in my eyes. All im saying is its not that bad when you consider that initially the 7970 was running at 925mhz.
