i've only been overclocking a weekish

trying to play slow & safe :)

quick testing [just to see what it would tolerate to boot]
4.2ghz @ 1.125 (stock) my board
4.4ghz @ 1.150
4.5ghz @ 1.185

proper testing [finding the lowest voltage on each OC + 24 hours prime
3.5ghz @ 0.800
4.0ghz @ 0.950
4.3ghz @ 1.096 < might even stay here:D << top temp on prime 48c

validation in case of none believe

Under 1.1V at 4.3 is very good.. Would be good to see lowest voltage on 4.5.

What motherboard/cooler are you using?

EDIT: you sig is telling lies, you voltage is 1.184 not 1.84, i bleeding hope so anyway. :)

yeh it is :)

msi mpower z77 phantek cpu cooler (double heatsink one)

not retried 4.5 yet

i dont no a safe voltage for 24/7 so dont want to push to much

remember to test in games after ibt/prime95 stable

it will tend to crash to desktop if your cpu voltage is too low even after passing stress tests

tbh your looking at 1.2-1.212v for 4.5ghz unless you have a super duper golden chip:D

look in event viewer for whea parity 19 processor warnings/errors

It is really hard to find a definitive safe voltage. I have read that 1.2 is recommended but not too sure. If 4.5 stays stable id say that its a great 24/7 OC.. Then push, see what you can hit. :)

going to keep this till tomorrow

to make 100% sure its solid then make try 1.135 voltages to see if thats stable (i jumped from 1.125 to 1.144 right away.

from there i might go up:D

im guessing 1.144 is good for the speed??

not got the any fans installed on the case anymore just 2 intakes
cpu pushes out of the top fine :)

Ive seen where the voltage varys quite a bit oc theses chips and yours seems to fall into the lower ones, proberly quite a bit of overclocking headroom left
