Gta sale on psn! opinions needed

It's an amazing game whichever platform you play it on, you soon forget about the graphics once it has you in it's grips!

Roll on September!

Ive found this to be true :) going through the lost and damned atm

Some bits are actually gorgeous but a majority of the time its a bit blurry and dull but old game is old and im enjoying it for what it was

GTA5 cant come soon enough

I'm thinking of grabbing Vice City and San Andreas, just not sure if my nostalgia itch is enough to put up with the now blocky graphics and awkward gameplay :/ These have always been my favourites in the series though and seem cheap enough to take a punt.
Anyone else feel the same?

I've still got my PS2 versions for when I feel like a bit of nostalgia, but I have to admit, they don't hold my attention for very long really. GTA3 is fun to go back to just because of its simplicity and how amazing it was at the time, but when I last tried San Andreas I couldn't help but think it had aged quite badly. Shame really, playing it on release was an amazing experience.

i bought gta 4 the complete edition to play through it before gta 5.

bad bits:

- graphics look worse than what i was expecting, could this be due to it being a download rather than physical media? i dont remember them being that bad when i originally played the game on disc.

- having to take the various "friends" out, i took roman to go play darts and the "gf" to bowling alley, after that i have just ignored them, complete and utter waste of time. it's annoying how they phone you every 5 minutes to "hang out", just wish they had made an option to turn the "social" part of the game off.

- why don't food vendors show up on the map? seriously when i need health i either need to kill myself or go home, if i knew where all the food vendors where it would be much easier.

- car handling is terrible, i mean you either get HUGE understeer or if you use handbrake HUGE oversteer, it's really bad.

- friends can be killed by simply bumping into them, i was on a mission, i went for a look about and the guy followed me, i turned round and the space was tight so had to walk into him to get past and i killed him by doing so, having to restart the whole mission. wtf is that all about?

- internet cafe, seriously why couldnt they just integrate all that this does into the phone? or give him a laptop in his home? again it is mainly a waste of time, i have only been to it once or twice and that's because it basically forced you to do so.

- fighting, it's simply awful, the whole thing needs to be re-designed

other than that it's been good so far.

is there any way i can jump from the main story into the DLC? or do i need to complete the whole game first? obviously be better to complete them in order, but if i get fed up, i would want to try out the DLC.

To start the dlc press start during gameplay and go across to the screen with new game, load, etc and press new game, then choose the dlc u want to play! I had trouble finding it too!

cheers.

will stick with the main game for now, see how long i can last.

does the dlc do anything better than the main game or is it just added missions in a side story?

I cant really say of yet, each one is from a different character and side story but apparently the gay tony one is far better as a game that the gta 4 original story

You can switch your phone off in the phone settings.

You have a laptop in one of your properties, I think it's the Algonquin place. The in-game Internet isn't a waste of time though, there's plenty of backstory to be read and there are loads of secrets on the net, hidden weapons/vehicles/jump locations etc.

The Ballad of gay Tony is by far the better episode. I'd stick with it.
