Grammer nazis in ere!

5/10

The grammatical "errors" presented in the quiz were so minimal that I doubt grammar nazi's would be able to spot them.

Error in the quiz?

So I am right then?

i dont feel so bad for reading that question wrong now. it was asking for the wrong statement, not the right statement

7/10. Could have got 8, but the Churchill one is just pot luck :/

Really? I got 5 out of 10 with the Churchill on being one of the only ones I was 100% certain of.

The quote "This is the kind of tedious nonsense up with which I will not put!" is quite famous (or so I thought) and it's strange construction is just as famous.

7/10

Although I did have to look up the definitions of modal, gerund, imperative, subjunctive, modifier and participle. Blame the Scottish education system; I have never been taught those words.

I also got 7/10. I had no idea about any of those words, so they were the questions that I got wrong. I don't think anyone knows all of them, to be honest.

Now for a thread of, hopefully, perfect spelling and grammar.

Meh I haven't come across it.

You can deduce the answer by elimination. Rearrange the statement to the more usual form "This is the kind of tedious nonsense which I will not put up with" and then see if the answers apply.

It's doesn't begin with but. The verb is not in its infinitive form 'to put' so you can't split it. Therefore it must be the third option.

6/10 but it should have been 7/10 had I not changed my mind on question 1, such an easy question that I presumed there was a trick and ended up catching myself.
