Fox, any advice on what you would change?

Please don't do this. Its your car. Don't let your opinions be shaped by other people. Sure, ask for opinions on your car, and maybe these opinions may gave you ideas about different things to do, but to actually ask someone on advice on what you should change to conform it to their taste? Too far.

It looks like a nice car tbh. Well looked after and the most important thing with something like a 330i is that the gearbox and engine are ok. Niggley stuff can br sorted with a bit if money (which I whole heartedly encourage people to do). But your 330 doesn't look bad. A huge amount of new BMWs are sold in white with black wheels.

Some of us on here like completely OEM and nothing else will do, some like subtle mods and some like slamming their cars and sticking replica alloys on with stretched tyres. You dont have to "please" anyone on here, but should be welcome to show off your car and maybe ask for improvements you could make to the cars look - which I'm not sure is applicable to you as you seem to love its looks which is great. And lets face it, its hardly hidious is it? If you decide you dont like it, turning the wheels back to silver will almost restore it to looking OEM.

The white respray and the black wheels is what caught my attention in the first place, I certainly won't be changing those. It's been my combo of choice on a few of my previous cars :)

Just after opinions that's all mate, I hadn't realised it wasn't a sport front bumper, having looked now I can see the difference.

I'm very happy with the car and the price I paid for it and it certainly gets a lot if attention!

I think you should give him a bit of credit, he's not going to change anything about his car purely because some people he's never met on the internet don't like it. I'd imagine he's unsure himself about some aspects and is interested as a result in what others would do.

Those black wheels look really, really chavvy and awful. I'd be having those painted silver first off if it was me, then the side skirts replaced. It looks quite well looked after, just lacking in taste on the part of the previous owner :p

I wish the pictures of the car werent blocked at work, it sounds epic. Sounds like the sort of E46 that are so popular down Southend Seafront these days.

I can see it now, lovely scenery.

Definitely Southend Seafront material. Sadly, bodykit and respray set off a few worrying alarmbells to me, one of them being "previously smashed to pieces and repaired on the cheap?"

Hope it turns out ok

She had the car re-sprayed for her 40th birthday 2 years ago, one of her family run a body shop, as does my father and we've checked it over, the job is superb and there is no evidence of accident damage.

Spot on, I wouldn't have noticed it's not a sport bumper so that's one thing I will be looking in to down the line. First stop is BMW on Saturday though to change the gear stick.

Can't help wondering if after changing it back to OEM it would have been easier to have just got, well, an OEM item in the first place!

The re-spray would bother me too, I can't see it being high on the list of 40th birthday presents tbh!!

If its a good job, fair enough, but I don't think £3k for a re-sprayed 155k miler seems that great a bargain, especially after putting it back to standard...

Have you checked its history?

All in all though, if you couldn't get one of these in white from the factory at the time, then I guess the only option is a re-spray and given the OP's fathers profession, I would imagine the cars good if he says so....

Enjoy!

How did you get it for £600 less than the auction finished at? Did you barter with the seller?

Do you not think the exact same thing with you, when sale time comes?

Yeah all history checks out with BMW, just the 2 owners and the lady I bought it off had it for 7 years, only selling it due to a knee injury meaning she can only drive an automatic now (she's got a merc now and funnily enough she had that sprayed from silver to white also although the BMW was black originally)

I wont be changing it back to OEM, the lights are fine IMO just the skirts I'm not too keen on and seeing the difference with the sports bumpers now that's something I may change over in the future.
