Hi,

there was a very special race car featured on one of the episodes on top gear Australia. It was racing from one point to another in one of the episodes, and it got stuck and overheated on the intersection. Does anyone remember what cart hat was and what episode it was featured in.

No idea, not seen the episode...
I could have answered "Cauliflower Cheese" and the Op would still be a none the wiser...

Wasn't it the Ford Falcon V8 Supercar racing car driven across Sydney?

Correct. here's the feature:

This is also a pretty fun comparison.

The V8 supercar series is effectively the australian domestic touring cars series, an ATCC if you like.... but with V8s lol.

Iirc the V8 super cars are no more than a space frame chassis with a body on top and bear no much resemblance to the road cars.

Going from wiki: 620–650 bhp. Nice.

Yup, similar deal to NASCAR really. They are made to look like the road car, but underneath bare no resemblance at all. The closest thing you will get to a road going version is the GT-P from FPV - Ford performance vehicles. They are to ford Australia what AMG are to Mercedes in a way.

The fastest "Ford Falcon" (as opposed to an FPV) is the XR6 which only has a 6 cylinder engine:

Thats what they are trying to sell by having their space framed racer look like it :)

They still offer a turbocharged inline 6, but no more V8 in their model range.

It's all about the "Eco boost" and they have a crap advert to go with it.

thats why you want the FPV GT-P that has a turbo V8 in it with 500 hp :D
