What is so much better about a phone using a google OS? Is it much faster? /androidnewb![]()
Ah, well either way this is great news for AOSP developers, maybe they'll get that camera working perfectly now, as well as other known bugs![]()
the main two things are:
- You'll get future software updates quickly and reliably
- The way it works is as Google intended and it looks rather smart (but you might not think so though and you do lose Samsung's custom tweaks)

- guaranteed support for at least 2-3 android version
- fast updates, no waiting around for 6+ months to receive the latest version
- not bloated (however, not as many useful features)
- for many people, a nicer UI, nicer apps
Doubt there will be a huge difference in real world performance. Battery life might be a bit better, hard to say for now.......
Free Pixel for everybody there? Jammy buggers, that's like double the cost of the actual ticket.
I think the bigger benefit is with the roms that can be created with a mix of samsung stuff with stock android that will make this awesome!
Now that the Google S4 has been announced, is that the only new device throughout the whole IO? No new N7 or an updated N4?
Not sure - there's another show tomorrow too
This is boring!
Thought there was only the single 3 hour keynote this year?
