A positive eBay expeiriance for a change!!!

With all the doom and gloom posted on here thought i should share this.

Sold something about a month and a half ago, to some guy in Russia. Anyhow fast forward a month and the buyers opened a eBay dispute saying goods haven’t arrived, useless Royal Mail tracking is only good till it leaves country so i can’t prove its been delivered. Was £50 bear in mind so a semi decent enough amount, one wouldn’t be too pleased to lose. So eBay promptly refunded buyer his money, leaving me out of pocket for the postage plus losing the item.

Fast forward to today, received an eBay message from the buyer notifying my he had received the item which had been stuck in customs. Asked me for my PayPal address and promptly debited £50 into my account. He had no reason to, as eBay had refunded him his money, so simply an honest person. Not to mention he had 0 feedback.


You can all thank me later for sharing this amazing incedent

I consider myself a good eBayer, I often can't be arsed to check shipping costs so put in my listing that if I have over estimated the cost then I will refund the difference and if I have underestimated it then its my fault.

I also wrap up any computer parts really well, and have even had comments about my 'awesome' packaging abilities

It was, International Signed For is pretty much useless as they only track till it leaves our borders. Only other option is Airsure but that only to a limited number of countries not includin Russia.

With over 350 transactions on eBay (some Quite high value) i have yet to have a bad experience.

You were lucky it turned up after just 6 weeks. Russia have been having big problems with their postal service for ages

Problems within Russia Post operations at Moscow DME Airport and at their processing facilities in Moscow are continuing. This is causing delays for Royal Mail items due for delivery in the country.. Royal Mail is working with Russia Post to both quantify the length of the delays expected and also to work on ways to minimise any of these delays.

Due to a fire which resulted in damage to all the servers at the Moscow Office of Exchange the acceptance, sorting and processing of all international mail (letters, parcels and EMS) has been suspended.
