Is anyone else experiencing massive slow-down with Hotmail since it changed to Outlook? Half the time I can't even get into it. It's like using dial-up.

Yes, I know I'll get lolz for using Hotmail, but I've had it since the days of Netscape Navigator and it was perfectly fine up until now. This might be the perfect reason to move over to my Gmail account properly. :(

What is the problem? Is this likely to be a semi-permanent thing then, does anyone know?

Its slow but not life threatening, wow first world problems...

There's no need for sardonic ejaculations, old chap. When your account is used for work and you send a lot of emails each day, a provider which regularly hangs for considerable lengths and sometimes doesn't load at all is a pretty valid problem.

I have noticed this and its pretty annoying, does not seem to be a browser specific thing either as they are all effected. As much as I would like to change to my gmail full time everyone still sends to my hotmail!

YES! For long enough I thought I was alone.

Same! *BroHugs*

Isn't there a function somewhere to have your emails diverted to another account? I'm off for another Google.

I've found that if its slow and you refresh the page it'll then load instantly.

Does anyone else get random refreshes as well? For some reason when I'm halfway through reading an email it'll refresh the page on me. Not sure if it's my machine or hotmail.

I have found a work round is using an email client outlook/thunderbird etc or even client on phone although this really defeats the point of web mail some what. But this does seem to suggest that there is an issue with the website rather than the service itself.

With the amount of users they must have and amount of competition I am surprised they have let it go on for so long.

In Outlook, hit the 'cog' icon and choose 'More email settings', then 'Email forwarding' & add your Gmail address. Hopefully it'll do what it says on the tin.

Edorf you can get your emails directed to another account but this feature was restricted to premium users and was the reason I paid to become one, but this may also apply for free accounts now as it was a long time ago I became premium.

It's been awful for me since it turned to outlook, and the past few days it's been unable to connect whatsoever about 75% of the time.

Been primarily using my phone for email which is a right pain but better than nothing.

Lets do this right...

Really no offense to everyone but who even uses hotmail these days besides old school MSN addicts?...

Really should let the dying service, die already.

MSN went the way of Yahoo Messenger, let Skype and Google handle this.

Too bad Microsoft bought Skype, just a matter of time before they ruin it.

I seem to get a fair few "Outlook has been updated, please refresh your browser" messages. I have a tab with my emails open all day, so i do notice when its playing up.

I can't help that people still send to my hotmail address, if it wasn't for that I wouldn't use it, forwarding is fine but still requires hotmail to exist.

What is your solution to this?

So what do you suggest i do with the huge numbers of emails i get sent to my 2 hotmail addresses? And logins that use that address? And many other reasons..
