Nissan Juke - any owners on here ?

Thing is you'll be getting the NA 1.6 which only comes with a 5-speed box. The Dig-T that the OP wants to look at will have a 6-speed, making it much more bearable on the motorway.

Also funny you should mention about it having a hairdresser image, because that's exactly what my. Gf does for a living :)

Ah good point - it was indeed a 5 speed box.

Whats the appeal of these? They seem to have.. lets say challenging looks, not a huge amount of space on the inside, they are not particularly economical, etc etc. I'm obviously missing something as they are quite popular both here and in the USA.

I was looking at a Juke Nismo, just because it was standing there while I was in the dealership and I couldn't believe how little space there was inside it! I think my car has over 300 litres of boot space and the Juke was about 250. Mine is so much more practical, could put a couple of child seats in the back also no problem if you need to ;)

They're about 2-3K cheaper than "competitors"**

My parents just recently bought one. They care very little about performance/figures etc, all they looked at was age, spec and a miles (they bought second hand). To them, they got a 61 plate, with 10K miles with bluetooth, sat nav and reverse cam for 13K. Where a similarly spec'd Tiguan was something like 15-17K.

So to the lesser educated car owner, it seems like a lot of car for the moeny

** - I say competitors loosely because my parents were comparing the Juke to a VW Tiguan and Qashquai. These aren't directly market rivals to the Juke.

If you don't understand the looks then there will never be any appeal of the Nissan Juke to you. :D

My thoughts entirely.

IMO they're the second worst looking car on the road (Fiat Multipla is the first), and they're tiny as well.

I keep my distance whenever I see one out on the road, I figure that if the person driving was blind enough to buy one, they might have a hard time seeing anything else too.

I've got one as a hire car for a month, it's shocking.

I can only compare the gearbox to a truck, you have to put quite a bit of force to get it into any gear, gets easier in the higher gears but if you're stuck in traffic it's a pain.

I can echo the space in the back comments, it's small!

1.6 petrol 62 plate this one is and it's a bag of ********.

I would like to retract my previous statement. It is a horrible looking car (sorry OP!)

Was behind one most of the way to work today, it really is a tiny car on massive wheels! So odd looking! Bizarre line from the rear end. Strange strange strange.
