We have a load of rubbish at the bottom of our garden from a building job that we want moved by June.

However, we have recently seen about 4 cubs running around the shed and among the rubbish. I reckon it's 99% sure that the vixen has set up camp behind the shed under the rubbish.

I'm not sure what to do. I want the rubbish gone, but I am animal lover and would hate to disturb them or put them in danger. They are the cutest things ever.

What would you do?

I would wait for a bit until the cubs were a bit bigger than start nosing around - they will get the message and move on if they spot you around the den

They may well not relocate them, but they're sure as hell likely to give much better advice than a bunch of computer geeks :D

I've spoken to them recently. The info they give you is in the fact sheet I linked to. Turns out the folks I bought my house from used to feed them, much to the dismay of everyone else in the street.

Best thing you can do is find where they are scent marking and put down some Scoot! After a few days they should move on of their own accord.

I have Fox in my garden. I love sneaking a look out of the windows on long summer evenings watching then sunning themselves.

But

DO NOT EVER FEED FOXES!

Fox are opportunistic predators and potentially dangerous (especially for infants and children) The only thing that makes them keep their distance from us is fear. If people feed them they lose that fear and the results are not good!

Is my cat in danger?

Cat and Fox compete for the same game. (And ulike the domestic Cats, the Fox's life depends on doing so!)

An adult (and confident) Cat should be able to scare off a Fox. But it is a pretty close run thing.

A young/Small Cat is definitely vulnerable to a Fox!
