Advice on foxes

I mean that I care for animals.

I don't mean that I'm a superb lover, of which I am...........I think.........I hope .......Ah! Who am I kidding.

Ah, I thought you were heading down the confessions route and wondering whether it would be over the top to set up your fancy vixen in a little pied a terre in St John's Wood.

Years ago when we lived in London, we briefly had a rescue cat. We kept it inside the house for ages after we got it and on the first night we let it outside it was slaughtered by a fox. Admittedly it was a pretty small cat and Balham foxes were well-hard.

Awawwww! I have to say that while I would have had (And still do) a certain acceptance of this possibility (One does with Cats) I would nevertheless have been completely heartbroken by this!

Poor kitty! :(

It was awful not least due to the fact that a neighbour came to the door whilst I was out, explained what happened to my wife and handed her the remains in a bin liner. When I got home the bin liner was in the middle of the lounge and my wife was hiding / sobbing in the bedroom!

However, we have recently seen about 4 cubs running around the shed and among the rubbish. I reckon it's 99% sure that the vixen has set up camp behind the shed under the rubbish.

I remember seeing a litter a few years back and thought ...... awwww cute and felt just the way you do..... but

Wait till you see their runny poo all over your lawn and patio - not especially hygienic for young kids is it ?. Get them under control now or the cubs will settle down and make your home theirs, they'll even come back to breed.

Spotted a pair earlier this year and the vixen was obviously pregnant. HELLLLllllll NO .... this is war. That's the last I saw of them ;)

As already mentioned Scoot is probably your best bet. Pest control won't really be able to do much as if they eradicate the current family another will replace them pretty swiftly.
