Who's skipping the 7xx series then ?

With the 7950 with 3GB vram, 384-bit memory bus and 3 top games on offer at £230, the equal/slower GTX770 (GTX680 rebadge) with less vram, lowly 256-bit memory bus and poor bundle is not really that appealing, unless they are gonna price it at at below £220, which I seriously doubt is gonna happen.

Wait for 8970 I am, and really hope that it is the 20nm process instead of 28nm process.

I always have and always will be secondhand graphics cards. A fraction of the price (than new) and the same performance.

Normally this means im atleast a generation behind but I have no concerns. :)

I understand where your coming from, but the 770 shouldn't to be targeting the 7950 more the 7970Ghz seeing as it is supposedly faster than the currant 680. The 760ti should be the one targeting the 7950.
Of course it will all depend on pricing, and how much availability drives the possibly already steep prices up.

Myself I really need to change out this 470 of mine as it is driving me made with its noise, now that my headphones have just broken  maybe the 760ti will be worth a shout.

Everyone with a 600 series card probably.

Not really much point in upgrading to 700 series unless you are still running 4**, 5** or older.

I have only just fitted a pair of 670 FTW cards and I'm more than happy with them. The 7xx will be overpriced and offer little advantage with the current games for me.

The problem with the 770 is that it is not really faster than the 680 though, except for higher clock. If they had upped the vram, memory bus size, CUDA core counts from the 680 (even if it was gesture like tinny bit increase...kinda like how the GTX260 192 to the 216 vsion) then yea...but they are offering none of those.

I'm skipping my next purchase will be ATI, never ever thought I would say that. my 680 is still perfect for now but screw nvidia imo

If a 770 GTX comes in at £300 or under and performs like a 680 GTX then i will be very tempted.

What were the 680GTX like on power, heat and noise?

I'd like to upgrade from my 670 SLI, but I'll probably try to a bit for the AMD cards. Recently got a 7950 for my second rig and am curious about the next gen. My only issue with AMD is their lack of Dual-Link DVI ports and the requirement that all monitors are fed off 1 card in Crossfire.

Only use the 7xx series will be to me is the hopeful wait for 680s to fall in price, need something to replace the GTX275 that's been going strong all these years! :p

Lower than the AMD equivalent power wise, way cooler, and way quieter. Not to mention the Titan cooler is even quieter still... They'll be nice cards, depending on the price. :)

Changing from 670's in SLI is kind of pointless unless your struggling to pay your electricity bill.

Why would it be pointless we are talking Nvidia here. we already know the 780 will be priced between what he 680 and the titan cards sell for now.so if you work on around the £500 area upwards the next card down the line the 770 isn't going to be a couple of hundred of quid cheaper

I personally think the 770 will be around the £400 or close to it

Only GTX780 is getting the Titan cooler. 770 is a rebranded GTX680 with a slight clock boost. It remains to be seen how Nvidia price them.

My guess.
GTX780 ~£500-£550 (~15% faster than 7970 GHz)
GTX770 ~£400 (similar speed to 7970 GHz ~5-10% faster than GTX680)
GTX760 ~£300 (~ GTX670 speed)

Give or take £20 on the above prices.
