Anyone know of an appropriate upgrade for the CD500 navi in my 2010 Insignia.
I plan of keeping the car for at least another 3 years and whilst i'm happy with the stereo;
1. It skips certain mp3 tracks on the CD i burnt, for no good reason that i can find. When i check the properties of the mp3's i copied over they all look/have the same bitrate etc, nothing untoward at all.
2. I've seen a vid online that shows you CAN use dvd mp3 disks, but i've tried it and it won't work on mine.
3. It doesn't seem to accept usb mp3 storage.

This thing is only 2 years old, i would have thought USB playback would have been standard. I don't really want to 'try' to plug my phone into the aux port and see if it will play music from that (don't really keep music on it anyway).

I use the phone system to great effect with my S2, however it seems to have issues with WP8 phones and having contacted Vauhxall there are no firmware updates for the cd500 navi or the bluetooth stack.

I saw a really nice touch screen all singing audio centre for the insignia, but it was on the bay.

Any advice please?

Are you sure on the USB front? The socket is usually under the armrest.

Actually, you are right....in theory ;)

I'm aware of the USB socket under the arm rest as i use it for charging. However i've read a few horror stories of mp3 via usb sticks not working very well.
Having checked my infotainment manual it does stat that USB formatted in fat or fat32 with no more than 11 folder depth and 1000 mp3 files should work.
Just ordered THIS from OCUK
Should do the job....hopefully.

ps...i think some misinformation regarding cluster sizes when foramtting usb sticks may contribute to some peoples issues.
