places to go on holiday in sept/oct/nov

I'm always amazed people go to the same place every year, doesn't it get old? Are the people that go to the same place every year also the same people that insist on eating British food and none of that foreign muck abroad?

Not saying it is the case, but seeing if there is a correlation. Of course if you own property where you are going then its understandable.

go to the sameplace because its my sisters place and free.

Also is adapted for my wheelchair and the surrounding area is easy for my wheelchair.

If I wanted adventure I'd like to canoe down the Amazon or cycle round the world, but that aint gonna happen til I get new legs.

I went here with the family last year, end of september/early october. The place was just cooling down, temps were hot, but not too hot you couldnt bare being in it all day. Sea was always warm too as it had all year to heat up.
Cost £1000pp and thats all inclusive. You're in a resort, with many bars, restaurants and the night entertainment is second to none, it really is awsome and something different for the 14 nights we stayed. you see fire dancers, poi, as well as all other crazy dancing from places like tunisia ect. you have comedy shows, and shows for the kids. Hardly spent a penny over the £1000, as everything we needed was in the resort. you can learn to windsail for free as well as a few other activities.

right, the missus wants to go on holiday, i aint really that fussed, she wants somewhere nice and warm, nice beaches with some entertainment also.

the only catch? its got to be in the winter months either sept/oct/nov or end of jan or feb actually too

i dont want to spend a fortune either, i.e Australia (flights cost too much =( although i really want to go)

Anywhere in the Caribbean.

Weather in the Middle East is good at that time (That's where I'll be in October). I can recommend Jordan, the beaches in Aqaba are supposed to be good. Also Tel Aviv is supposed to be a great beach city, I only went to Jerusalem though so haven't been there myself.

He has up to £3k to spend and people recommend Turkey and Egypt....... Stop it!!!

Carribean, America and best of all Thailand are all far superior in every way, without any shadow of a doubt!

As much as I love America, especially the W. Coast, Asia is far superior in terms of culture, costs, scenery, scenery, scenery and just the whole feeling of it all! Plus the beaches are out of this world and you can normally stay just off them or a few steps away for peanuts! Flights in November are around £600 each from Heathrow, with them being direct 11/12hr with EVA or Thai Airlines. Check prices using kayak.com.

If you want I'll get some pics up tonight to sway you. But for a simple plan I'd do:

1. Land Bangkok.
2. More Bangkok.
3. Fly to Krabi, get a trasfer to West Railay Beach (Minibus then longtail boat) as it's only accessible by boat.
4. Railay beaches and drinking/partying/eating on East Railay.
5. Railay, explore the island, take a kayak ride aroudn to other uninhabited beaches etc.
6. Boat to Koh Phi Phi, stay on Long Beach (just a few mins longboat ride from Tonsai bay (harbour, partying, eating etc).
7. Koh Phi Phi, take a day excursion to Koh Phi Phi Lay (where they filmed 'The Beach'.
8. Explore some of Phi Phi, hit the viewpoint up on the hill, relax.

From here onwards you could either:
A: Add another day in Railay and Phi Phi, then head back to Bangkok to give around 12days total.
B: Get a boat to Koh Lanta, Joh Tao (diving), Phuket etc depending on what else you want to do.
C. Fly somewhere like Koh Samui from Krabi..... Wouldn't bother, West side of Thailand is better than Samui!!!

We've been over to Thailand for the last x2 Christmas and New Years and nothing gets close to Phi Phi and West Railay. We are liekly going back again this year and as a plus the gf moves from Shanghai to Bangkok in a week so I'll be able to recommend even more places.

Now get yourself to Thailand it really is 100x better than I've even plugged it to be!!!

He has plenty of money to spend but it doesn't mean he has to spend it all in one go.

He can save some money for his next holiday.

I'd rather have 2 cheaper holidays than one expensive one.

I'm the opposite, I'd rather have one good holiday than 2 average.....each to their own though.
