Hi guys,

I need new front and rear brake discs and pads and was just wondering which you would advise on.

Make is a Mondeo Mk3 LX 2001 1.8 Petrol.

Thanks for any advice.

For my Focus I use Mintex pads and discs. Fitted them myself when they've needed replacing over the past 10 years, they do the job fine.
Probably around £100 all in for your Mondeo.

are they easy to fit?

Yes - you're biggest problem will be if any of the disc retaining screws don't want to come out (if they're still there).

I don't spend much time trying these days, if it shows signs of stripping I just drill it out. From memory the Mondeo calipers screw in opposite directions for each side at the rear too

I've never got on with EBC stuff tbh, green and red stuff pads just made an absolute mess without any great stopping power (the reds were ok once warmed up to be fair, just very, very dusty).

Plus I'm not sure I'd bother on a cooking mondeo

Go for Ford OEM pads, they're the same price as the Pagid stuff but cleaner and work better. And are a better fit.

Thanks guys, I've decided on the Mintex. I'm going to be getting an ST220 at some point this year so there's not much point in spending over the odds.

Try the yellows, I use them with Brembo discs and think they are pretty good for road use.

I read somewhere they are used by the police and cars available for track days.
