Hi,

So I have been looking at new mice, mainly the G700 but I have seen that there is a new version coming out the G700S. Should I wait or just go for the G700. The G700S is out in the States but can't find any expected UK release date, it seems to be exactly the same but have a better grade laser but also it does look worse with some cheesy graphics on it.

I think the G700s, when wired, sends the data over the cable, whereas in G700, it was only for charging.
Mind you I have the original G700 and before that I had MX1000 and happy with both of them, but some ultra-competitive people will surely prefer the lower latency of the wired link, however minute it might be.
Also G700 original USB cable is quite stiff, which gets in the way, I think the 's might have addressed that...
Finally there's higher DPI sensor.
What's not to like?
Personally if the price difference isn't massive, I'd wait, or if you're impatient, just ship it from US...

I've asked OcUK about this and Logitech have said it will be late June or even July before the G700s starts shipping here. The laser is better, the coatings are better (they don't wear down like the G700's did) and they're generally more up to speed with modern mice.

I'm personally waiting as there's nothing more annoying than peeling mouse coatings (had a massive issue with my Roccat Kone for that reason) and I'd rather not regret not waiting. I will agree that the new Logitech G S mice look awful, but then the G700 was never much of a looker anyway!

I got one of these a few days ago as a replacement for my G700. From what I can see/feel the shape is almost exactly the same.

I used it for a little while, but by comparison the finish doesn't feel as nice on the hand either, at least for me. Also I think they went waaaaay over the top with the design. Too many lines. put there for the hell of it. They aren't textured so it doesn't add any function and makes it look cheap. So I sold it on the bay and kept my G500 that was being used as a spare.

If you aren't fussed/like the new design though, it's a great mouse. Just keep a good few batteries ready to swap out, as it's a power hungry piece of kit.
