Hi all,

I apologise if there has already been a thread for this, but I did a search and nothing came up so...

Just to alert everyone who enjoyed Company of Heroes in the past that a new steam version has been released, which will appear in your Steam Game list automatically if you have bought COH on Steam already.

You just need to download and install it. This is the same game as the old version (including Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valour if you have them already on Steam), but it uses Steam works for online play. And it actually works unlike to old **** system....

However what you may not know as well is that if you do not already have COH on Steam, but still have your old retail copies lying around, that you can now add those to Steam and gain full access to the new steam version. (This includes both Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valour, if you have these retail keys too)

If you enjoy it then me, EI8HT-F (not from ocuk), Defrag, Tefal and Puppetmaster all play, so give us a shout if you see us and want to play.

Been wanting to try this out even since I got the Humble Bundle but wanted to ask, is COH an FPS or strategy type game?

Just checked steam. Looks like a 7.5gb download even though I have the old steam copies installed. Will update to new version eventually...are there any other changes beside MP? :)

I've found that the AI seems to be really dumb since they changed it to the Steam version, but only in some maps. Seems to be a lot of base-camping involved, and none of the 'inspired' AI that you'd occasionally see from CPU players, like tactically using the British trucks as bullet magnets to assist in a mad rush forward.

Has anyone else noticed this? I primarily tend to play with friends, against AI opponents, I've found matches against friends often ends up either being very 1-sided, or a never-ending slug fest with no outright winner for too long.

Thanks, had no idea about this! The old way was a nightmare.

Forgive me if this is a bit of a silly question; If we have the old retail versions, do we just use the key that came with that in the "Activate Key" part in steam? (I think that's what it's called lol - don't have it on this work machine to check)

Yep, that's how it worked for me.

No problem.

And yep, what Kelt said. :)
