I know this is something I could google but I'd like to ask here for what foods I should be consuming on a clean bulk. My diet is hit and miss at the moment, I can go 3 or 4 days eating clean protein meals daily but then I'll have a day or two binge eating which obviously affects gains. I go to the gym 7 days a week and start off each session by running 1.5 miles at a fast pace, managed to get under 10 minutes for the first time today.

what does "clean protein meals" mean ? does that mean you are not eating any carbs ?

are you getting 4 days in and then craving the carbs ?

Missing info.

- Weight/Height
- Goal
- Current macros
- Current program
- Experience

Also, if you ant gainz of the size variety, I would chuck in at least three rest days a week, assuming you're either new to this, or even if you aren't...

Unless you sleep and eat like a demon, your body will not grow effectively.

Sometimes, yeah. But really variable depending on the person.

Also, you could train e.g. 6 days a week and do just fine in training schedules where there is still effectively say 4 days clear gap between major muscle groups.

Empirically, a whole load of people do just fine with only one rest day a week.

So do I, but most people don't get either their split, rest, diet or whatever right. :)

Of course it can be done (look at Matutu) but there are more effective ways for Average Joe to make size gains than training every day...

Yeah. You're right. Less and simpler seems to be better, for most. Not least because people who train too much tend to give up quicker.
