*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

As tempting as that is, I'd probably give that wireless kit a miss for 2 reasons:
1. Does it comply with UK/EU electrical safety regulations? Don't the plugs have to show a CE marker which I cant see in the picture (but it is difficult to make out)?
2. Will the wireless power transfer work through the rubber back of the Neo Hybrid in addition to the back cover of the S4? If not, it will defeat the purpose;)

Yeah I see what you're saying about point 1... Maybe wait for a UK one to come out?

And about point 2, I read on XDA that some people have used these pads with phones with a TPU case and it has worked ... Not sure I want to take the risk though haha and go through the effort of sending it back if it doesn't work

I still like the desktop charger that you posted earlier in the thread. The vendor is down to 2 units available. Decisions Decisions LOL

There's plenty of qi wireless charging options already available in the UK?

This one?

andy_mk3 here bought one and said he'd let us know if it worked with the neo hybrid case or not but he hasn't posted any pics yet so I'm guessing it hasn't arrived yet

EDIT: I'm not sure if many docks will work with that case as the phone sits quite deep in it

Got a link to one you'd recommend please? Or have you not used them?

EDIT: This at £36.99 isn't too bad providing it will work through the neo hybrid case:

I've asked the seller to see if he knows whether or not it will work through a TPU case

Yes, that's the one. The depth of the USB plug and whether the internal width of the dock is sufficient for the Neo Hybrid are the two things preventing me buying it.

That's what I was thinking ... As the neo hybrid doesn't really have that rounded shape to the bottom of the phone like the dock does

Are you not interested in that wireless charging unit I just posted now in post #5205?

Everything that I have read about wireless charging has left me unconvinced. I asked myself why I wanted to pay more for a slower charging rate and need to correctly position the phone on the wireless pad.

It was this test that made me think again:

Read quite a few people who have had their screens crack (although for some, the glass screen hasn't actually cracked but the AMOLED panel itself instead) supposedly without knowing how at XDA etc. too

Have a read through these threads:

And there are a few other threads reporting the same thing too.

Try to get it exchanged from where you bought it rather than sending it to Samsung.

So, I finally got my replacement S4 from vodafone today. Did a proper test run to make sure the screen was perfect (my old one had a pink tint at the bottom).

All was well, screen was great. I was overjoyed. And then I realised that my hand is slowly cooking. On standby. Yeah, they sent me an overheating one.

:mad::mad::mad:

First thing I tried; didn't help unfortunately. Still started cooking my hand even with light web browsing.

It's annoying because I know there must be normal working handsets out there. Temps were absolutely fine on my first one; and the display was absolutely fine on my second one. Is it too much to ask for a phone where it's all working?

ANYWAY! Enough moaning. S4 #3 is coming out tomorrow; if that's no good I'm asking for a HTC One instead.

Well I think I'm about as close to stock as I can get until there's a workable CM or AOKP build although to be honest I might keep it like this anyway.

I've got wanamlite with 3minit mod to change a load of the menus etc to blue, then I have nova launcher with holo icons pack (they're actually slightly stylised stock icons which I like) and then holo locker for a stock lock screen.

I just added icmess for a nicer messaging experience and I'm kinda done with the cartooney look of touchwiz. I could do with a better/themed contacts app and dialler and then I could probably live with it.

My ideal right now would be wanamlite with a quality version of jb domination as I don't mind having some of the samsung apps. Sure it'll be along soon.

I did find when I flashed the unofficial CM10.1 that I was left with a phone which was identical (save for the stability issues and quirks with a pre alpha build) phone to my S3 which actually made the whole experience a bit empty.

bit like when I moved from my iphone 4s to my 5.. very nice, the hardware has changed but the bit I use 24-7 is identical..

And with CM10.1/AOKP I'd end up with an identical phone in most part to my One S, S3, N4, N7 and now S4 so I could probably do with having some of the samsung trimmings just to make it feel new.

I have the iBolt Xprodock and it's pretty good. Attaches really well to the windscreen and outputs audio as well as charging the device.

Haha yes thats the one i mean, not iDock. :o

I saw the cable has a USB connection on it, whats that for? Charging? I dont have a way to charge via USB without one of those cigarette lighter adaptor things.
