star wars (arcade)
Pac Man (arcade / Atari 2600)
Defender
alternate reality (ST)
dungeon master (ST)
.. and a whole lot more..

I must have been in the minority that didn't find anything fun about Pokemon. All my siblings loved them though as did a lot of friends.

Give me Streets Of Rage, Beetle Adventure Racing (such a good N64 title), Goldeneye64, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Turtles on the NES, Life Force, again on the NES and not forgetting California Games where I championed at foot bag :D

Many more but those were the ones that occupied far too much time.

Sonic 3 plugged into sonic and knuckles, complete on every character :P hyper sonic etc

The crash 2 and 3

Sonic adventure, me and a mate loved that

Mario 64, diddy kong racing, pokemon games

Soo many memories, games these days seem more throwaway than back then

Blimey I was about 14 when calculators came out so no chance of a childhood game however my all time favourite game was Kick Off 2 on the Atari ST.

You missed by far the best era of video games. SNES/Megadrive.

I remember buying a mega drive and thinking wow!! then i bought an snes and never played my mega drive again!! snes and n64 were easily the most fun i've had playin video games, super mario world, zelda, mario kart on snes and mario 64,zelda ocarina of time and goldeneye on the n64 .I would say these are my fav 6 games of all time

This.
To hard to call but in my top 3:cool:

LOL at people compiling these lists, its 2 or 3 games that we want to know not every game you've ever liked.

Seeing those lists just makes me scroll down to the next post, sorry.

I listed games that hold special memories for me, I will write a detailed post why I listed them if it makes you feel any better. Its not just some random list of stuff i enjoyed

I was just reaching the end of my childhood when the Speccy came out, because old.

I loved the Ultimate games, PSSST and Trans-Am, but my absolute favourite was Lunar Jetman, addictive as hell.

Other honourable mentions go to Scuba Dive, Manic Miner and Dark Star (similar to the vector Star Wars).

Captain Comic
Commander Keen
Duke Nukem
Jazz Jackrabbit
Hugo's House of Horrors 1/2/3
Starglider
Major Striker
Wolfenstein 3D
Doom
Space Hockey
Test Drive
Grand Prix
Operation Wolf

Please do, it would be in the spirit of the thread.

Lists are missing the point completely, the point was to say one or two games and give some background on why you chose those games.

There's a similar thread currently in pc gaming that had people giving one or two games and writing info on their choices, shall I link you?

Elite. Firstly on my mate's Acorn Electron and then on my own C-64. I had pages and pages of stuff written in a notebook about which prices were best where and what goods to trade in. I love games that have that kind of grip on you.

My childhood was with the Spectrum, so I'd have to say Doomdark's Revenge.

Other than that, my first console was a Dreamcast, so I'll always remember the first time I played Soul Calibur. That was a sweet looking game!
