Sabertooth 990FX - onboard sound screwed!

Hi All,

Had this board since July 2011, and its been completely fine up until two days ago. I turned it on as normal however it fails to detect the onboard soundcard, and hence I am left without sound. I have done all the standard things;

- check its enabled in BIOS.
- updated to the latest bios.
- check DM for conflicts.

It won't detect anything at all, and nothing has changed on my pc hardware/driver or software wise to cause a problem, which leads me to the conclusion that its FUBAR -_-

I'm not sure I can still RMA since its nearly two years old now? :mad:

Good news for you - the Sabertooth boards have a five year warranty !

You'd probably have to get in touch with Asus for an RMA however and it's like pulling teeth.

silly question, you tried uninstalling drivers for audio/chipsets, removing all traces of driver from registry, restarting and try to install driver again?

ASUS RMA is a massive pain in the derriere. It will be quicker and cheaper to buy a soundcard, like a Xonar DG.

and you will do your ears a good service to. Cannot stand onboard sound.

try uninstalling drivers first of all of not the try RMA if you got it from OCUK then try C/S section if not the you will have to go through Asus RMA
