I saw a stupid maneaouvure today, like insane. Guy is lucky.
Two lanes, large HGV in right lane indicating right about to turn. Out of nowhere, a cyclist tries to overtake it, whilst it is about to turn. I kid you not the guy must have been less than 50cm or so from being scooped under the wheels. He had the audacity to have a go at the HGV driver, so I cycled up to them and had a go at the cyclist as the HGV was clearly positioned correctly and indicating (I saw it a mile away!)
Just to even the Idiot driver vs cyclist scores.
I had a idiot of a bus driver nearly kill me today. He decided to over take me on a blind bend, when traffic coming the other way meant he couldn't take a wide enough path he just decided to cut back towards the curb. So there i am next to the bus with space rapidly running out.
Luckily i had predicted the actions of the bus driver and had already started to slow and move to my left. It missed me by a couple of cm.
I find London buses pull out blissfully.
Sounds strange but ever since I started commuting to work, I have found myself being more aware of surroundings generally on my bike or not.
I told him I wasn't getting involved because it is a daily occurrence but he insisted he was going to report him.
Every day is a cycle incident day but this morning I arrived at work shaking.
I was right here - https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=st...=lMpxvR6q1jnrTjL9Vi3ISA&cbp=12,285.63,,0,7.32 and indicated I was going over to the right (to go to Tesco Express).
I'd given plenty of time and did see a red car some distance behind me before I pulled to the white line.
I got to the bollards and just as I was going to cross over a bloke with a dog screamed at me to stop when this red car came overtaking at speed the other side of the bollards, drove further up past the next set of bollards and came over to the left after those
Another bloke took the drivers number and asked for my details because he witnessed it all, said I'd done nothing wrong and he should have just gone up the left of me which was a full road width.
I told him I wasn't getting involved because it is a daily occurrence but he insisted he was going to report him.
I'm pretty sure that at least 90% of the drivers in this thread can blame me.
Sounds rough.
Definitely report it though, it's the only way the person will learn.
