Ok,

So on the train on the way home today, we were discussing old computers.

Most of went through machines we had home or used at school etc.

I then remember one machine that was either in a shop or a magazine, but not 100% sure it was released but if it was it died out pretty quick.

why i thought it was cool at the time was it had a joystick in the corner of the keyboard. It was around the time of the dragon 32. i thought it was the Oric but it wasn't.

I'm trawling the internet now trying to find.

Maybe one of you guys know what it was?

Elan Enterprise. I have 1......and about 45 other 70's and 80's devices. Bit of a collector.

Hah cool, don't remember that one. I had a couple of MSX's at the time, loved that computer!

It was specced to be a killer device and hyped for months and months but sadly arrived 2 years late when everyone had caught up. It's still one of my favourites however.

I just remember wanting one as looked so cool back then.

Maybe have been too much for my parents to buy. Had my ZX81 replaced by an Amstrad 464 CPC.

I had an Atari 400 as my first home device in 1980 when I was 13! It was £299 for the computer, £99 for the BASIC cartridge and £100 for the tape deck! Mind you, everyone else was using ZX80's and then ZX81's and the odd Speccy and the Atari 400 killed them deader than a dead thing.

Loved Star Raiders... Somehow I managed to persuade my parents I needed an Atari 800.. How l33t am I !?! :)

I was too old just for the BBC Model B stuff which is a shame, I did go the Atari ST (should have got an Amiga), then Mega ST route though before ending up on PCs with a 286/12 monster with 1mb of RAM :)

Ah, the memories.

I remember managing to 'hack' 3D Monster Maze by wiggling the ZX81's 16K RAM pack at the right moment. It let me get into the part of the game code which was in BASIC (although some was machine code) and I was able to edit the layout of the maze :D

I'm too afraid to mention 80's computers here anymore :p

Oh sod it, Amstrad CPC 464 + Green Screen

There's also a very good reason why I felt it was the better system
